Architecture

ICS Cloud ERP

Golden Gate replicates the transactions from Source to Staging. The records replicated exactly (same tables, same data) in the staging Instance.

Queue

Database triggers are fired for the new records. The triggers push records from all tables into the Queue. This ensures the records/transactions will be replayed into the target in the correct order.

ICS uses the Mapping Rules maintained in the JCS and pushes them into ERP Cloud. The Load Engine is built using the ICS Adapters to connect to the SOAP/REST Web Services provided by Cloud ERP.

ICS applies the transformation rules to transform the records for loading into ERP Cloud. Individual transformation rules will be developed for the different Source Systems.

Source Staging


Demonstration

Migration without downtime. Only switch when all data is reconciled. The similar architecture was used at Bunnings (Wesfarmers) to perform their EBS upgrade.


Demonstration

Source/Staging: EBS 12.1.3. Target: Oracle Cloud ERP. Golden Gate: Reads the archive log files from the Source and replicates in Staging. Supports multiple types of Databases. Why Golden Gate? It is because it reads the archive log files and hence there will be no performance impact. ICS: Used to develop Transformation Rules and Cloud ERP Web Services are consumed using pre-built Adapters. Why ICS? Quicker Development.

Run a “fake update” script(s) on selected table(s). We also include WHERE conditions (e.g. active, etc.) This will cause Golden Gate to replicate the records The Load Engine will then Replicate the records into ERP Cloud


Customer Replication

Ensure Prefix is Set Create the Customer in the Source Customer is replicated in ERP Cloud


Receivables Transaction Replication

For the new Customer create a Transaction The AR Transaction is replicated in ERP Cloud


Summary

Replicate multiple existing Customers. This shows that “Existing Data” may be replicated (i.e. Data Conversion)

Create a single Customer and single AR Transaction. This shows that “Delta Data” may be replicated


Conclusion

Conversion of existing data into Cloud ERP The 2 Systems may co-exist side-by-side, the go-live switch occurs when everything reconciles
