Campus NewsA Note from JudyMany of you in the Chairo community will already be familiar with Hohidiai; an organisation in Indonesia that serves the poor through medical work, children’s homes and now a school.
Chairo has had several connections with Hohidiai in the past, including hosting the principal of their school and a fundraising activity at the Drouin Middle School called ‘Hike to Hohidiai’. In January this year, three of our staff members spent two weeks at Hohidiai, providing resources and training to staff at the school.
Currently, we are blessed to have two of Hohidiai’s student teachers visiting us at the Drouin and Drouin East campuses. Ningsi and Lisa have been observing and assisting in many of our classes. We are excited about this arrangement as it is a wonderful blessing to both Ningsi and Lisa as well as to Chairo. As they develop their English skills and gain knowledge in teaching practices, we too are blessed to have two native speakers to enrich our Indonesian program.
Chairo is looking forward to having an ongoing relationship with Hohidiai School.
For more information about Hohidiai, follow visit hohidiai.org and youtu.be/nKnqULHGFvQ.Judy Linossier, Drouin Campus Principal
