Last week absolutely whizzed by and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting students and parents whilst getting to know my way around the school. I was particularly interested in the tour I had of the Aquaculture area and would like to thank Grace Chopin, in particular, who impressed me with her knowledge of the programme. Parent Opinion survey The school really values the opinions of parents in helping us to reflect on the quality of the service we deliver to your children and ensuring that they are provided with the best opportunities possible. In order to do this we ask that you take part in our online Parent Opinion survey. The survey is brief and can be accessed via the following website: hps://www.schoolsurvey.edu.au/s/dENGHk5R School Visit This Monday, Michelle Ottens, some of the Junior Primary staff from Cleve and I travelled to Adelaide to visit St. Antonio Catholic school to observe the Walker Learning Approach, which is an exciting and innovative learning program with huge benefits for children’s learning and development. The approach involves students becoming involved in working on their own personal projects and investigations within various learning centres eg; role play, collage, construction, sensory area, reading/writing areas. We visited a Reception class and were amazed by the way the students were engaged and focussed on their learning. The classroom was highly visual and interactive, encouraging the students to use literacy, numeracy and social skills, whilst also engaging in other curriculum areas. We returned with lots of ideas and are keen to look further into this approach to learning. Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Several of our students, under the guidance of Colleen Peters undertook their Adventurous Journey on the weekend. Read more about how they went in the following pages. Kindy Transition Our Kindy kids began their transition visits this week and will be continuing these over the coming weeks. This is a very important part of helping them get a ‘Great Start’ to their school education. We hope everyone makes them feel welcome and that they enjoy the time they spend with us. Welcome to Week 2!

Last week absolutely whizzed by and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting students and parents whilst getting to know my way around the school. not be a Justice of the Peace available at

the library. Please contact the Council

Office for a list of other JP’s in the area.

Overdue Books

Remember if you have borrowed an item from another Library, please return the item by the due date or contact the us on 8629 2320 to renew the

item.

Unfortunately, some Libraries fine users for overdue items. If an item is more than two weeks overdue a Library may assume the item has been lost and send an account for replacement costs.

If your unsure feel free to contact us or pop into the Library.

Student Borrowing

Just a reminder on student borrowing.

Reception - Yr 3 : Limit of 2 books at a time.

Yr 4 - Yr 6 : Limit of 3 books at a time.

Books loans are for 28 days, please remind

students to return items that are no longer

required or to renew an item if necessary.

Unfortunately students with overdues are not

permitted to borrow until the overdue is returned.

Students are more than welcome to borrow Dvds,

however this needs to be done outside of school

hours.

All welcome to come and discuss your needs with an experience health professional (occupational therapist) and view/trial a wide range of equipment.
