STEP: - 1 FEEL

We love our country, community and of course school but when we looked around, we felt something was missing.

We surveyed and left with the strong need to change the perspective and attitude of everyone around us.

We felt although we are the part of great school yet we can still use a quick reminder about moral values and can make a whole lot of difference in everybody’s life including staff, students as well as parents.

We felt that we are the future of this world and we should not forget about the rich values of our country ‘India’ and spread the message of great values and ethics to everyone around the world which is the true image of India.

STEP: - 2 IMAGINE We had lots of meetings and discussions regarding this idea with fellow friends as well as Principal and staff of the school.

We wanted to make it a movement that would influence not only our school students but the whole community also.

STEP: - 3 DO

We decided to celebrate that week with students as well as parents and anyone who touches their lives.

We made a time table and posted them at many places with a ‘Crystal Clear Idea’ in mind: “Morals cannot be Taught, They come by Practice”.

On ‘First day (03-09-2011)’ of project, we talked about our project and topic of day in assembly and shared the lunchboxes in our classes with our class teachers and learned fun part of sharing. We also requested everyone to donate at least one old newspaper, magazine or books. We sold those papers and books and started a book club for poor students. We learned the importance of recycling of papers and making the best out of waste.

On ‘Second day (05-09-2011)’ we talked about “Positive and Peaceful behavior” in life and how meditation can be a useful tool in implementing this. We did meditation in school’s morning assembly and now we do 2 minutes meditation after every period in our classrooms. We love the more positive vibrations all around us.

The ‘Third day (06-09-2011)’ was full of fun. Cleanliness was the main topic of the day. We talked about clean body, school, community and environment. Our friends presented a small play in our morning school assembly and gave a very beautiful message about moral values and their importance in life. We learned that how just washing hands before having food and after food and throwing the waste in dustbins can make a lot of difference and save us from many diseases and can make world beautiful and healthy place to live. It’s just a matter of awareness. It’s a moral duty as well as it affects everyone around us.

On ‘Fourth day (07-09-2011)’ we talked about how a small change in our attitude can make this whole world a more beautiful and peaceful place to live. We made “Thank you Cards” in our classes for special persons in our lives like parents, teachers, friends, drivers, maids or peons and the list was endless. “Give love and respect, Get love and

respect”. We learned that everyone on earth is equal and has a purpose so we should thank God for them and love everyone around us.

Our ‘Fifth day (08-09-2011)’ was full of activities. Besides speech and discussion on this topic in our classes we learned how we can contribute in saving our mother Earth by making small changes in our lives. We learned how we can use old newspaper to make our own carry bags and stop using polythene bags. We planted trees in our school along with Regional Director, Principal, staff members and students. It’s our moral duty to “Conserve” the natural resources for coming generations.

On ‘Sixth day (09-09-2011)’ we talked about Father of Our Nation Gandhi ji and his teachings. We prepared a skit, group song and requested everyone to follow his beliefs and teachings. At last we had an Oath ceremony (Shapath), whole school stood together and made a promise that not only they will be good persons but they will make this world a better place to live in. If we can implement his beliefs in our daily life then we don’t have to do anything else to be a better persons, it will automatically be an easy journey to our goal. He is truly an Icon for the mankind.

By the end of the week we were very sure that it was not only for one week but it’s going to be with us for our entire life. We are proud to be the part of such a special movement, school, country and world which is very beautiful.

Now when we move in corridors all we get peaceful vibes and see smiling faces. It changed everything in our lives. Thank you. We feel that our journey has just begun and we will do our best to follow these simple steps in our lives. Now we have a vision of New World in front of our eyes.
