Davenport Bunny Run Alliance News (DBRA)

This organization was formed when the gables issue arose and is made up of property owners on the peninsula (Davenport, Bunny Run, Riverbend, Greenshores and Davenport west). Our DRNA( Davenport Ranch Neighborhood Association ) is not a member, but we are represented by the Master Association. The purpose of this organization is to have the interests of the homeowners heard while the last of the land on the peninsula is developed. Current News: 90, 000 square foot office space is being built behind San Clemente on west side of 360 Gables : the garden homes lots are under contract but the new owner has not been stated Gas Station/small market : CoA approvals are going ahead for the gas station convenience store NW corner of 360 and Westlake drive a 5 story office and parking garage is being built The CoA is declining the go ahead on improvements of Westlake Dr. and 360 which was part of the Gables settlement. Anyone know people on the city council that could continue to push for the intersection improvements?

Davenport RanchAustin Energy Construction Project

In an effort to improve the overall reliability and maintainability of its system (and to reposition the wires that are too close to the Davenport Rim condos that are under construction), Austin Energy will be undertaking a construction project along the lower part of Waymaker Drive.

The project is scheduled to begin in late May, 2006 and should be completed by early October, 2006. The project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will consist of setting a permanent pole at the lower end of Waymaker (near the Riva Ridge intersection) and setting a temporary pole at the corner of the Davenport Rim private drive. The wires running parallel with Waymaker close to the condos will be removed; being replaced by new wires running overhead to the permanent pole, underground from the permanent pole to the temporary pole, and overhead from the temporary pole to one of the existing poles at the lower side of the Davenport Rim private drive. The second phase of the project will involve continuing the underground portion of the installation across the Davenport Rim private drive. This will result in removal of the temporary pole; removal of both of the existing poles on the lower end of the Davenport Rim private drive; and removal of one of the two poles on the upper side of the Davenport Rim private drive.

As part of this project, Austin Energy has agreed to replace the existing Bradford pear trees on the south side of Waymaker (where they will be working) and replacing those trees with Texas live oak trees. In order to ensure landscaping consistency, the Davenport Ranch Master Association will discuss replacing the other Bradford pear trees on the south side of Waymaker with Texas live oak trees at the same time.

Recipe of the Month:

Babies are most often allergic to milk, eggs, wheat, soybean products and peanuts.

About 70 percent of all living organisms in the world are bacteria.

Did You Know?Amish Sweet Bread Starter 1 C milk 1 C flour 1 C sugar ½ tsp. yeast 1 tsp. Brandy Mix ingredients in a large bowl. Let stand, covered, 24 hours. Then stir daily, keeping warm & covered (as you would with bread dough with yeast). If kept 112º 10 115º, fermentation is better and you can begin separating and mixing earlier, but do not refrigerate, and do not use a metal spoon. Remember to stir daily. Depending on fermentation, you can on the 5th-10th day, add 1 cup each of flour, milk, and sugar, stirring well. The very next day, proceed with Friendship Bread instructions, or take only enough to make one recipe, being careful to replace starter with equal amount used.

Pets bring a lot more than love into your home.If you’ve got a pet, you already know you’re living with pet dander, pet hair, allergens, pollen and whatever else they bring in – unless you’re using The Maids.
