Edinburgh College of Art: ResearchMasters Thesis and Post Graduate Diploma Studies: My Diploma and Masters research focussed upon issues of urbanism. In particular, the variance of urban form and typology, and the architectural history present in urban and suburban districts. This led to master plans based on historic principals that incorporated contemporary living and design approaches. My Masters Thesis researched elements of Edinburgh’s New Town that have enabled the district to adapt over time to evolving cultural and social attitudes and uses.

BArch (Hons): Fountainbridge Social Mixer - proposals for a 24000sqm communitycentre. This one year project addressed aspects such as: structural and site issues, environmental, technical and sustainable design, budgetary constraints, detail design, and effective presentation of the proposals.

Personal Architectural Research and StudiesIn addition to keeping up to date with contemporary architecture through regular reading of periodicals and online resources. I have also enjoyed many personal architectural study tours to various global destinations which have made me familiar with many forward thinking developments. I have studied the traditional and contemporary architecture of native China and I have been a regular active member of a Part III study group.
