A VOTE for DAVID HENIG is a VOTE for ATHERTONS FUTURE

Caring for Today Preparing for Tomorrow

I am proud to be the only candidate for Atherton City Council endorsed by the Democratic Party.

Equally important, I have been endorsed by many former mayors, current residents, and the localnewspapers. These endorsements demonstrate confidence in my ability to bring a newperspective to the council. They also reflect a deep concern about the way the council currentlyworks. Too much time and money has been spent on in-fighting, lawsuits and micromanagement.I want to help our Town move forward.

The road ahead will not be easy. The new Council will face several challenges which will have alasting impact on our Towns finances:

    1. Hire a new City Attorney.2. Address the $1,000,000 lawsuit filed by a former Finance Director.3.

Work with the San Mateo County Investment Pool to recover asmuch as possible of the $500,000 we lost in the Lehman Brothers collapse.

    4. Fix the Business License Fee and refund those overcharged.5. Pay the unfunded pension liabilities from the General Fund.

The only way we will overcome those and other challenges is if we all get informed, and allget involved. The Council must become the forum where anyone who wants to be heard can beheard. We dont have to agree on every issue, but we have to agree to listen, to be open-minded,and to be civil.

Here is a great way you can help. All of these committees do important work and are critical to

    Athertons quality of life:

The Audit Committee 3 community members neededThe Environmental Programs Committee 6 members neededThe Rail Committee 4 community members neededThe Transportation/Traffic Subcommittee 3 members neededThe Arts Committee 7 community members needed

If you want to get involved, please contact the Acting City Clerk, Kathi Hamilton at (650) 752-0529to find out more about these opportunities. This is where the rubber hits the road! I urge you tovolunteer your time to help our community. Work with me toward making Atherton a better place

to live for all of us.Please vote for me. I appreciate your support, and I look forward to your participation.
