Tottenham Hotspur was formed in1882, as Hotspur F.C. and played inthe Southern League until 1908when it was elected to the FootballLeague. Spurs are the only non-league club to have won the English(F.A.) Cup, having won it in 1901.The club first played their homegames on Tottenham Marshesbefore moving to NorthumberlandPark in 1888, before moving, in1899, 100 yards down the road totheir present ground, White HartLane. Tottenham Hotspur firstplayed in red shirts and blue shortsthen chocolate and gold stripedshirts and chocolate coloured shortsduring the mid 1890’s and switchedto the now familiar white shirts andnavy blue shorts in 1898.
