Matthew 14:24 “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”It has come to me quite unexpectedly as I was pondering the magnitude of diversity and the glory that this awesome God puts in flowers, that the Messiah was born as a Jew and came expressly to minister to the Jewish nation of Israel. The Father God has chosen the people of Israel to show the world His love, kindness, justice and attributes through. It all started with this one man called Abram way back in Chapter 12 of Genesis. Genesis 12:1-4 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.  I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”  So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. And God made covenants (promises that could not be broken) with Abram that still hold true to this day.

We are talking about four thousand years ago as we count time. The old testament of the bible is a written testimony of His dealings with this people. Then, in what is called the new testament of the bible, He sent His Son Yeshua (Jesus, was or is the Gentile version of His Jewish name) to testify about the goodness of His Father God to the people He had chosen. And why did the people flock to Him, because He did give testimony of the goodness of His Father.

Marcus Lamb was born October 7, 1957, in Cordele, GA and raised in Macon, GA. He began preaching as an Evangelist in 1973 at the age of 15. He received his degree at age 19, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lee University in Cleveland, TN.

In 1980, Marcus Lamb founded Word of God Fellowship. He married Joni Trammell in 1982, and she began to travel full time with him as they ministered in more than 20 states. In 1985, Marcus built WMCF-TV 45 in Montgomery, Alabama, which was the first Christian TV station in the state. The Montgomery station was sold to another Christian ministry in 1990, and the Lamb’s moved to Dallas, Texas, to build KMPX-TV29. Through a series of miracles and divine favor, TV 29 went on the air full power in September of 1993. In 1997, Marcus began the Daystar Television Network, which owns and operates TV stations across the nation. Daystar is now the second largest Christian Television Network in America.

Marcus and Joni host a daily TV program called “Marcus & Joni” that is broadcast live via satellite across the nation and around the world. Marcus and Joni minister at various churches around the nation on a regular basis and have a heart for souls and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Marcus has a unique gifting in preaching and teaching the Word of God, as an evangelist, he has committed to memory large portions of Scripture. Marcusministers with great sensitivity to the hearers with an emphasis on praying at the altars and moving in the gifts of the Spirit. It is his desire to see people saved, healed and revived with the fire of God.

Marcus and Joni reside in the Dallas area and have three children, Jonathan (and wife Suzy), Rachel and Rebecca.

About the name “Daystar”

If you look at 2 Peter 1:19 (KJV) understanding it was written in Greek originally…. “Daystar” derives from the Greek word “phosphoros” phos – meaning “light” (Figuratively, meaning moral and spiritual light and knowledge which enlightens the mind, soul or conscience, including the idea of purity, holiness and of consequent reward and happiness.) and phero or phosoros – meaning “to bring” (Figuratively, meaning an absolute sense, a way or gate said to lead somewhere.) This verse in the spiritual sense is referring to that clear and comfortable knowledge of and strong faith in Christ which is the harbinger of an eternal day in life and blessedness. (source: The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament: by Greek Scholar Dr. Spiros Zodhiates Th.D). Peter is referring to Jesus as our “Daystar”. One who brings light to a lost and dying world. Daystar and Morningstar are both names that the Greeks assigned to the Planet Venus because while passing from it’s lower to it’s upper conjunction with the sun, during which time it appears to the west of the sun and consequently rises before it and ushers in the light of day. Thus, “Daystar”.

We do know that Lucifer held the TITLE “Daystar”, “Son of the Morning”, and “Morningstar” BEFORE he fell from Heaven but was stripped of any and all titles of honor when he was cast out of heaven. Thus, because of Satan’s decision to destroy mankind to get back at God…. At Calvary Jesus became the light that shineth in the darkness…and mankind was redeemed by His precious blood.. Peter felt this description best described everything Jesus would be to us. Satan is reminded of the title and position he lost every time “Daystar” is whispered thru the airwaves as we know He is the prince and power of the air.

Joni and Marcus co-host Daystar’s daily flagship live broadcast “Marcus & Joni” featuring the nation’s most recognized faith-based leaders, businessmen, authors and entertainers.

In addition, but not the least of Joni’s accomplishments is her love and care she gives to her husband and children, Jonathan, Rachel and Rebecca. Her role as a mother and wife is her foremost responsibility and calling. Joni is a sought after conference speaker and ministers frequently with her husband Marcus throughout the country.

A Brief History of Daystar

Marcus Lamb was raised in Macon, Georgia and began preaching at age 15. By age 19, Marcus had graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lee College. In 1982, Marcus married Joni Trammell of Greenville, South Carolina. They began traveling and ministering in churches in over 20 states.

In 1984, following God’s specific guidance, they moved to Montgomery, Alabama to build WMCF-TV 45. In 1985, channel 45 became the first full-power Christian television station in the state. At age 27, Marcus Lamb was the youngest person ever to build a television station in the United States.

The Marcus Lamb and Joni Lamb quickly gained recognition as “a new breed of televangelists,” as one CBS News anchor put it. In 1990, they moved to Dallas, Texas to build a new Christian television station. Through a series of miracles and divine favor, KMPX-TV 29 hit the airwaves in 1993 in the Dallas/Fort Worth market of over six million people.

A Brief History of Daystar (Continues)

In August of 1997, the ministry moved into a new 32,000 sq. ft. studio-office facility. The Daystar Television Network was officially launched on New Year’s Eve 1997 with a live broadcast featuring Bishop T.D. Jakes from the Potter’s House in Dallas.

In December of 2003, Daystar completed its move into its new 90,000 sq. ft. International Ministry Center which includes two state-of-the-art production studios.

Since then, the Daystar Television Network has emerged as the fastest growing and one of two largest Christian television networks in the world. Daystar operates over 70 television stations in major markets across the United States, and has a potential audience of over 100 million households in the U.S. alone.

In March of 2004, Daystar launched on the HotBird 6 Satellite broadcasting into 74 countries, and on Thaicom 3 broadcasting into 59 countries internationally. Daystar can also be viewed on international satellites including AMC-4, NSS 806, PAS-10, BSkyB, VIASAT and OPTUS B-3, covering the entire footprint of the world reaching over 200 countries and 680 million households globally.
