Stepping in of Dayanand Shiksha Sansthan (DSS) in 1904 in Garhwal region of the then Uttar Pradesh laid the foundation of a modern school and higher education. Wings of higher education, continuously spread by successive addition of institutions at the gate way of holy land, thus DSS played vital role in socioeconomic upliftment of the region. In very short time, after establishment in 1961, DBS (PG) College acquired proud status of gem in the crown. This college is first choice of all sincere and meritorious students. The melange of liberal management, highly qualified faculty drawn from lead national institutions and vast pool of talented students and matching science labs provides opportunities of full blooming to teachers and taught alike.

This powerful message of Bhagwat Geeta is guiding force for persons of innumerable generations as it directly exhorts that to gain prominence is a long process that could be achieved only if we are alert and committed to action in right direction. This shloka further says that you have to defeat your enemies and in reward you enjoy world which is full of variety and prosperity.

This message of yore was given to great warrior Arjun by Lord Krishna in battle field of Kurukshetra has full relevance for today's youth who are aspiring for their better future. Instead of battle the place became college/university campus and Arjun and Krishna are replaced by you and us or faculty. DBS (PG) College is a perfect place in terms of ideal requirement of learning center in the entire state of Uttarakhand. An academic institution has multiple components and all components combinedly decide the stature of institution among its peers. Despite large number of components, an institution is finally judged by how students are faring after their education is over. Different departments of the college have long list of successful students who are working in different fields both at national and international levels and once they get a chance to immerse in the memories of by gone era of the campus they became highly sentimental. These successful students in fact as indirect push to faculty members to perform better and higher. In last one decade college transformed in all segments, we have matching labs, excellent library, wifi campus, fully solar campus, very supportive games, sports and cultural facilities, vibrant cells working in different segments, tie up with many level institutions for project/dissertation work, sympathetic and sensitive atmosphere, and above all very competitive faculty all these acts as strong magnet to pull best talent from near and far areas. This talented pool of students when step out of institution, become brand ambassadors of the college.

I on behalf of faculty, staff and management of the college welcome all those who join DBS family and convey my best who are already part of this family and wish their bright and challenging future. This institution do provide us respect and recognition in the society, I wish with combined efforts of all, the shining will become better day by day.
