Introduction:
The electrical power is almost exclusively generated, transmitted and distributed in the form of acbecause of economical consideration but foroperation of most of the electronic devices andcircuits, dc supply is required. Dry cells and batteriescan be used for this purpose. No doubt, they havethe advantages of being portable and ripple free buttheir voltages are low, they need frequentreplacement and are expensive in comparison toconventional dc power supplies.

How it Works (Continued): Voltage Step down
Process (AC to DC):The voltage woulddown by thetransformer. Theworking principle oftransformer is verysimple. It dependsupon Farada’s law ,mutual inductionbetween two ormore winding isresponsible fortransformationaction in an electrictransformer.
5
Rectification Process:Rectification processwill be accomplishedby using a diode. Adiode is an electricalcomponent thatconducts current inone direction andblocks current fromflowing in the otherdirection.

Filtering Process:
For filtering our outputcurrent we may use acapacitor. A capacitor iscommonly used forfiltering and storecharge in it.

How it Works (Continued): Load (LED):As a load we used LEDlight for our project.

CONCLUSION:The power supply that has been designed provides agood alternative to a more expensivepower supply. The power supply has fewcomponents, covers a small area, and is very simplein design.
