PreparationTo assign a channel to a pre-select button:1 Push and hold the pre-select button.2 Push the primary knob to go to channel 1. Turn the

primary knob to select the channel. 3 Release the pre-select button to assign the selected

channel.

To assign a channel to the B output button:

1 Push and hold the B output button. 2 Push the primary knob to go to channel 1. Turn the

primary knob to select the channel.3 Release the B output button to assign the selected

channel.

To test the microphone or headset:1 Attach the channel of output A to a pre-select button.2 Push the A output button to select output A.3 Push the Micro button to enable the microphone. 4 Push the pre-select button to which you attached the

channel of output A. You can now listen to yourself.

To enable or disable beeps:You can disable and enable the beeps of the interpreter desk with the beeps button. When beeps are enabled, the display shows a musical note.

Incoming channelPush the Floor/Auto-relay button to select the floor. The Floor indicator light comes on.

When you cannot interpret from the floor or the auto-relay, use the pre-select buttons to select a channel from which you can interpret. The second line of the display shows the qualities of the interpretations on the channels that are assigned to the pre-select buttons of the interpreter desk.

When beeps are enabled, the interpreter desk plays a beep when the channel that you selected contains an indirect interpretation of the floor language.

To set the channel of the loudspeaker:When the microphones of all interpreter desk in the booth are disabled you can listen to the loudspeaker of the interpreter desk. Push the primary knob to go to channel 1. Turn the primary knob to select a different channel.

Auto-relayWhen an auto-relay interpretation is started and the floor is the source of your interpretation, the interpreter desk automatically replaces the floor with the auto-relay interpretation. You can push the Floor/Auto-relay button to select the floor again. You can push it again to go back to the auto-relay interpretation.

Interpretation1 Push the A or the B output button to select the

outgoing channel.• When the Engaged indicator light of the

outgoing channel is on, the outgoing channel already contains an interpretation.

2 Push the Micro button to enable the microphone. • A red indicator light around the Micro button

comes on and the interpreter desk plays a beep (when beeps are enabled).

• When the incoming channel and the outgoing channel are the same, the interpreter desk automatically selects the floor and plays a beep (when beeps are enabled).

• When the Engaged indicator light flashes, another interpreter desk tries to get access to the outgoing channel.

• When the speech timer is enabled, the speech timer is set back to 00:00:00.

To temporarily disable the microphone:Push and hold the Mute button to temporarily disable the microphone. The speech timer does not stop when you push and hold the Mute button.

To disable the microphone:Push the Micro button to disable the microphone. The red indicator light around the Micro button goes off. When beeps are enabled, the interpreter desk plays a beep. When the microphones of all interpreter desks in the booth are disabled, a green indicator light comes on around the Micro button.

Speak slowly signaling

Push and hold the Slow button to send a request to speak slower.

Help signalingPush and hold the Help button to ask the operator for help.

IntercomWhen the interpreter desk receives an intercom call, the Intercom indicator light flashes. When the microphone is disabled and beeps are enabled, the interpreter desk plays a beep.• Push and hold the Call button to accept the intercom

call. • Release the Call button to stop the intercom call.

To make an intercom call:• Push and hold the Call button to start an intercom

call to the operator.• Push and hold the Chair button to start an intercom

call to the chairman.

Phone callWhen the interpreter desk receives a phone call, the phone indicator light flashes. When the microphone is disabled and beeps are enabled, the interpreter desk plays a beep.• Push and hold the Call button to accept the phone

call. • Release the Call button to stop the phone call.

MessagesWhen the interpreter desk receives a message, the indicator light adjacent to the button flashes. • Push the button to read the message. The display

shows the message. At the same time the indicator light adjacent to the button comes on.

• Push the button again to erase the message from the display.

NoteYou can only assign a channel to the B output button when the B output button was enabled during the installation of the system. You can never assign a channel to the A output button.
