Welcome to the 49th Annual Pan Orthodox Basketball Tournament!!

The Orthodox Youth Athletic Association (OYAA) and Pan Orthodox Tournament committee would like to welcome all of the players, coaches, families and fans to the 49

th Annual Pan Orthodox Basketball Tournament! We’re very

happy to see many old friends returning and welcoming new participants for this year’s tournament. As you know, we are just starting the Lenten season, and we ask all participants to remember that we are Orthodox Christians, and that good sportsmanship, appropriate language, respect of officials and good behavior from players, coaches or fans is expected throughout the weekend. Please also respect the gyms, hotels and other facilities that are being used for this Tournament. The OYAA would like to thank all the volunteers who worked before, during and after the Tournament to make the weekend successful, especially those supervising gyms, working the scorer’s tables and concession stands. We would also like to thank the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, St. John Armenian Church, the Grosse Pointe Public School District and particularly the staff at Brownell Middle School, Parcells Middle School and St. Clare Catholic School for allowing us to use their facilities throughout this weekend. Lastly, we would like to wish each of you and safe and successful Tournament and a blessed Lenten season, and we look forward to seeing everyone again on March 17-19, 2017 for our 50
