PLEX BombPLEX COLLECTION BY DEADGOOD STUDIO
‘PLEX’ is the latest addition to our Deadgood Collection, designed in house by the Deadgood Studio.
Designed for both commercial and domestic
interiors, these minimal and slick products
feature a selection of Formica ‘PLEX’ laminates
presented in a metallic, autumnal colour scheme.
Both pieces in the range utilise a plywood frame
with contrasting block colour panelling on both
the internal and external surfaces. The ‘warm
industrial’ aesthetic is perfectly complemented
with a set of four gold anodised aluminium legs.
The ‘PLEX’ material from Formica combines
the texture, colour and character of real metals
with the hard wearing, lightweight and fl exible
properties of a decorative laminate.
Both items feature ‘push catch’ cupboards and
shelving and can be made in bespoke sizes or in a
variety of standard laminate colours.

“This innovative material was recently awarded the RedDot
Award for Design excellence”
Pitfi eld London is a shop, cafe and gallery space set in the heart of Shoreditch, with whom we recently collaborated to create a capsule collection of products launched during the London Design Festival 2013.
We used the opportunity to
start thinking about how we
could use a versatile material
that had recently caught our
imagination from Formica®
- ‘PLEX’ DecoMetal™. This
innovative material was
recently awarded the RedDot
Award for Design excellence
and given our near ten year
long relationship with the
Formica Group, it made sense
to investigate the possibilities
of using the material.
With an avant-garde texture,
PLEX illuminates the beauty
and radiance of natural
metals and provides a fresh
alternative to the long-
established brushed metal
look. Inspired by satin textiles,
damask and rough plaster,
the material offers a crisp and
versatile fi nish ideal for use
in luxury hotels and high end
commercial environments. The
surface embodies a constant
dimpled texture, encapsulated
within both a real metal
layer and a robust upper
plastic layer. Its appearance
transforms in different
lighting conditions and we
felt that the real metal fi nish
of gold, aluminium, copper,
bronze and graphite could
give a touch of exclusivity
and authenticity to a variety
of environments. We chose
to design a very simple range
of products that our clients
could relate to instantly, with
broad market appeal and that
could compliment the most
demanding commercial or
domestic project.
As always at Deadgood,
we partnered closely with
some of the very best British
Craftsmen in order to develop
the Collection in such a way
that we could adhere to our
client driven ethos of offering
great customer service. This
is apparent in the fl exibility of
our bespoke service, whereby
the pieces can be, resized, re-
coloured and even completely
reshaped if needed! We also
decided to ‘mix it up’ in true
Deadgood style in order to
present the Collection in a
seasonal and relevant blend
of autumnal hues, utilising
the ‘warm industrial’ palette
within the PLEX range.
In our humble opinion the
PLEX Collection embodies
simplistic styling with a
dash of fun opulence that
will hopefully delight our
customers for years to come.
Just drop us a line at sales@
deadgoodltd.co.uk if you’re
feeling duly inspired and
we can talk you through the
myriad scope of opportunity!
PLEX Collection - Making it
We are very happy to welcome Daniel Schofi eld the
latest addition to the Deadgood family and designer
of the Deadgood Brogue Light, which will be revealed
at Clerkenwell Design Week 2013.
Daniel’s passion for design focuses on the creative
exploration of materials, industrial processes and user
interaction, working closely with factories, workshops
and manufacturers to produce contemporary furni-
ture, lighting and accessories.
By giving each of his products an individual story of
their own, Daniel hopes to create timeless pieces that
have an extended lifespan, reducing their impact on
the environment.
Born in the UK, Daniel trained as a graphic designer,
then a carpenter before studying Furniture and Prod-
uct design at Sheffi eld Hallam University, during which
time he worked in New York for leading Manhattan
based interior design practice and specifi er DDC.
Graduating in 2011, Daniel soon set up the Sheffi eld
based studio, specialising in adding extra value and
narrative to mass produced and limited edition prod-
ucts.
In 2013 Daniel won the New Design Britain Award for
the furniture category.
We are very happy to introduce you to a
close member of the family, Vicki Leach who
recently developed the ‘Plex Collection’ for the
Deadgood Studio, launched during the London
Design Festival in September 2013.
Vicki has also had the demanding task of
managing the Deadgood Studio since joining the
team in 2011.
Born in the Isle of Man and studying Product
Design at John Moores University, Vicki
graduated with an MA in Furniture Design from
The Sir John Cass School of Art and Design,
London.
Working closely with Deadgood Directors Dan
and Elliot, Vicki has worked on several designs
under the guise of our Deadgood Studio,
including Harvey, PLEX, The Corner Chair and
Laptop Table.
This tenacious character is also the winner
of our outstanding contribution to Deadgood
award!

Lovely Ladies!WORKING GIRL CROSS BY DAVID IRWIN
Working Girl Cross Stools by David Irwin are a brand new addition to this Deadgood Collection.
Working Girl’s simple aesthetic started life as a
reinterpretation of an everyday workshop stool. The
Collection has grown to include a low, medium or high
stool (all with optional back support) a double bench,
dining chair and a complimentary range of tables at
both dining and poser height. All the products in this
Collection feature a lacquered oak seat/table top and
a powder coated or raw steel frame. A pressed location
detail offers the opportunity to stack our seats as high
as the sky, whilst the handy aperture adds a functional
dimension for everyday handling. The small footprint
across all products means that the range is an ideal
choice for commercial applications where space is at an
absolute premium.
Each product is branded on the underside with the
designer, product and manufacturers name with the
option of bespoke branding on volume contracts.

Fully Stackable Branded
This talented Deadgood family member almost needs
no introduction at all but in case you haven’t met him
before, we’re pleased introduce David Irwin.
Born in N.Ireland in 1986, David graduated in Three
Dimensional Design at Northumbria University in 2007.
He completed a fellowship on the Designers in Residence
Programme at Northumbria’s School of Design in 2010
and subsequently went on to establish his own Industrial
design Studio in 2011.
As a practice David Irwin works for leading
manufacturers operating predominately within the
spectrum of contemporary furniture, product and lighting
design. The studio’s design focus is rooted in material
exploration and driven by a desire to assign purpose
to both traditional and contemporary manufacturing
processes. The goal is to create objects which enhance
our daily lives through the utility that they provide and
the character they possess.
