Dear Friends and Family,

We are enjoying serving Christ in the land we love. It’s hard to believe we’ve been here in Japan for almost five months now — the days have flown swiftly by!

The support from you, our prayer and financial partners, has been tremendously encouraging. As a team, we have one goal in mission… “that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no one else.” This thought is in our hearts as we celebrate our risen LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST this month!

We rejoice that two friends from Chuo Church will be baptized on April 8th

(Resurrection Sunday). Minoru Shimazaki is a third-year high school student and is gifted in music. Since starting to attend English classes at Chuo Church as a child, God has been working in his life and he is now ready to commit his life to Jesus and identify with Him in water baptism. Minoru is actively involved in the praise and worship team, Sunday school and youth group. Through his life he has influenced his friend, Shota to come to our music practice and youth group.

Mrs. Koizumi also attended English classes before she started to come to church about three years ago. She is now ready to commit her life to Jesus and has given up her shinto practices by deciding to burn her godshelf (butsudan) and ridding herself of other traditional but harmful religious relics. Her face glows with peace and joy as she is experiencing new life in Christ and she’s excited to be identified with Jesus through water baptism on April 8th. Her heart’s desire is for her daughter and son to also come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

As you can see, coming to faith in Christ is often a long process for the Japanese. The God of the Bible and its message of salvation is foreign to them, and sharing our faith requires wisdom, patience and grace which can only come from the Lord.
