Dear Friends of the Catholic Foundation:

You have made 2016 a wonderful year for many in the Diocese of Pueblo!

We are pleased to report that 36 organizations and Catholic Schools received

a total of $94,300 in grant awards. The awards covered a wide range of parish

and mission programs, with an emphasis on helping youth, and we are proud

to say that approximately 98% of all donations from our appeals during the

year went directly to fund these grants. We also took advantage of new

opportunities to promote charitable giving and manage entrusted

resources, such as helping a parish to establish a permanent endowment

fund—all of which is an integral part of our mission.

We are also excited to announce that 10 organizations received over

$20,000 in direct assistance from the Msgr. Delaney Humanitarian Fund.

The Humanitarian Fund has been in place for just over a year and

already it has greatly expanded the Catholic Foundation’s outreach. What

a blessing it has been to welcome these new grantees! During the year I

visited a number of these recipients in person, and it is a real joy to see

what impact even a small gift can make.

Whether it is providing for the most basic of needs, or helping to bring a

family back to the Church, the Humanitarian Fund allows the

Catholic Foundation to humbly extend a hand to those who reach out.

This coming year the Catholic Foundation plans to host a few more

St. Francis Society Dinners throughout the Diocese. This special evening

with Bishop

Stephen Berg will

give donors the

opportunity to

learn about the

Bishop’s vision for the Diocese, and to make a significant gift to the Catholic

Foundation. This traditional gathering is also a perfect setting to meet our donors

personally and share the ministry of giving.

The Catholic Foundation is thankful for all of you, our faithful donors, who

make our programs possible. On behalf of Bishop Stephen J. Berg and the

Board of Directors, thank you for your continued support in the coming year.

Steven S. Chargin Executive Director
