Dear GEMS Wellington Primary School community,

I hope that you are enjoying your summer break and are continuing to stay safe throughout these challenging times. Meet the Principal/CEO Sarah O’Regan It is a privilege to be joining the GEMS Wellington Primary School community. This will be my tenth year leading a GEMS Wellington School and I am proud to be part of the GEMS Wellington Family. Will GEMS Wellington Primary School be open in September 2020 for my child? Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) have requested that all schools in Dubai submit a school readiness September 2020 reopening plan. GWPS have submitted their plan and are awaiting approval. We have the capacity to open safely in September with 100% of our GWPS students FS1-Year 6 on site engaging directly with their Class Teacher. Your Foundation Stage and Year 1 children will be in stable groups of 10 and your Year 2-Year 6 children will be in stable groups of no more than 15. As soon as we have KHDA approval, I will share with you our confirmed opening plans. Please note that we will announce your child’s Class Teacher in August. We are very much looking forward to seeing all of your children in September (pending approval). Exciting Times Ahead 2020-2021 GEMS Wellington Primary School is a first-class community school and 2020-2021 is going to be an exciting year. We will be working in partnership with the very best Education providers.

WPS have secured a unique working partnership with WozEd – the American company founded by Steve Wozniack (inventor of the first Apple computer and founding partner of Apple). GWPS will have access


to new technology led by the American team who will be visiting GWPS and working directly with our students and teachers. Furthermore, GWPS has invested in more state-of-the-art technology to deliver S.T.E.M lessons to all. These new resources will help challenge our thinking and allow us to work collaboratively.

Our EXPO2020 journey will see GWPS be one of the first schools in Dubai to send students to the amazing attractions and learning opportunities. All of our students will have the opportunity to learn and explore the very best that EXPO has to offer. Working alongside the EXPO team will enable us to bring some of these challenging ideas and concepts into our classrooms.

We will be continuing our partnership with ArtsEd International, our GWPS students will have the opportunity to work with world-class Performing Arts teachers throughout the year.

GWPS will continue to work alongside some of the best English and Maths educators and consultants in the world. We have both Stephen Graham and Anthony Reddy returning to WPS to work with our community.

Ambassador Programme As you are aware our parent community are our best advocates and the Ambassador Programme is our way of saying thank you for playing an active role in our success. If you introduce a new family or friend to the GEMS community and earn back 4% of the referred child’s annual tuition fee in the form of GEMS Points which will be redeemable against school fees or transport fees. It is Our way of saying thank you


For each new student that is successfully enrolled in GEMS Wellington Primary School, upon your referral, we will give you 4% of the referred child's annual tuition fees as GEMS Points. GEMS WPS Uniform Gems Wellington Primary School will be gradually introducing an updated uniform, the uniform will not be compulsory until September 2021. GEMS WPS Yearbook 2019-2020 GEMS WPS Yearbook 2019-2020 will be available for you to download shortly, in the meantime I have attached a copy for you to view, please enjoy.
