Dear St. Luke Families; It is hard for us to remember that it is not gifts under the tree that make Christmas so important. If the presents were all we looked forward to, then when the presents were opened, Christmas would be over for us. Christmastime is not just one day, we celebrate it everyday through prayer, going to mass and friendship. God bless all of you and on behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to wish you a very blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are very thankful that you chose to send your children to St. Luke and for your dedication and help. Thank you to Mrs. Slepicka and KJ for the beautiful Christmas trees and pine boughs in front of school. Please keep all of our families who have experienced a loss of a loved one or are ill in your prayers. Our Math and Science teams have done very well. Our Math team finished third at the Fenwick Math Contest and third at the IC Math contest. Our science team finished fifth at the Fenwick Science Contest. In addition, our 8th grade girls placed second at Trinity’s academic bowl. Congratulations to our Bearcats and their teachers. We have many beautiful prayer opportunities during Lent. St. Nicholas will visit St. Luke (thank you to our new student, Nicholas Bohlsen for volunteering to be his namesake) to tell his story and pass out treats. We will attend mass together to honor the Immaculate Conception. Santa Lucia will visit the school and will light our way through Advent. We will end our December with a final prayer service on Friday, December 23. Please join with us at 1:15 for prayer. Our Christmas extravaganza will take place on Tuesday, December 20. Our band and guitar students will be performing along with our 1st through 5th graders. The dress rehearsal with be at 1:15 and then we will have the final performance at 7:00 that evening. Please come and listen to our beautiful children. Our second graders will again travel on the Polar Express and learn about different Christmas traditions around the world. Our first graders are preparing a play for their parents entitled Arthur’s Christmas. Our third graders collected coats for Catholic Charities. The entire school will be participating in a service project to Pack The Pantry for Catholic Charities. Their food pantry is in dire need of help for all those in need. The reward will be an out of uniform day on the last day of school. Our sixth, seventh and eighth graders participated in the Concordia feed the hungry project. Our early childhood will see a live presentation of the nativity with real animals. This will be a very busy three weeks. Everyone is looking forward to a quiet, restful Christmas break. Don’t forget that we dismiss at 2:00 on Friday, December 23. Again, please have a very blessed and restful Christmas and a happy new year. We return to school on January 9, 2012. God bless all of you, Mrs. Rasinski

Dear St. Luke Families, Students and Faculty,

For every Good Friday, there is an Easter Sunday. For every death, there is a resurrection. This is what we believe in our faith and this is what we hold on to every day. For all of Dave’s suffering we find comfort in knowing that he is now in a better place with God, in Heaven. For all of our mourning, Alexis and I find comfort in God and in our family and friends. The St. Luke community has showered us with such love and comfort that we sincerely call you “family”. At this time Alexis and I would like to extend our deepest appreciation for your prayers, meals, donations, love and support during this most difficult time in our lives. You have reached out to warm our hearts and we are very grateful. We thank God every day for each of you and we pray that God will bless you abundantly for your kindness and generosity. Please continue to keep us in your prayers and we will continue to pray for you.

Thank you and God Bless,

Ann Marie & Alexis Wojcik
