Beginning Quilting Classes

New Beginnings Chris Crabb

Tuesdays, January 10, 17, 24, 31 and February 7 Fee-$95

6 PM—8 PM

This class is for the person who always wanted to learn the basics. We will take you from start to finish in five easy fun-filled classes.

You will test drive one of our computerized sewing machines, and we will introduce you to tools and techniques to make your first quilt a winner!

You will learn rotary cutting and machine piecing skills. Be prepared for homework.

You will learn about batting, backing and marking your quilt for free motion quilting.

You will learn making binding and sewing it to your finished quilt.

So you’ve made your first quilt, now what? Let’s make another quilt! A log cabin block is a great

next step to learn precise cutting and piecing skills. We will also learn to set blocks on-point and

how to cut and piece side-setting triangles. Let’s get started.

Are you tired of crawling around on the floor to pin your quilt? Pin your quilt eas-

ily using the tables in our classroom. Just call the shop and ask if the classroom is

available.

Join us for this years Border Creek Station Mystery Quilt 2017 called "Quilters Joy". This year there is a new twist to the plot to keep you on the edge of your quilting chair! For those of you who have never tried a mystery quilt or have been disappointed before all I can tell you is that this pattern is excel-lent, extremely well written and the quilt is beautiful! Embroidery Software Classes

It is very difficult to use the touch pad on your laptop for embroidery software., so attendees need to have knowledge of basic computer skills such as navigating in Windows Explorer and using an external mouse (Please have your software updated before you attend class.

Premier+ - Level 1 Jane McMurray Thursdays, January 12 & 19 Fee- $50 1 PM—3 PM

Learn the basics of the Premier+ Embroidery software. We will go through how to change your thread colors, resize and make design combinations. We will also explore the Ribbon Tabs. We will use the Life View and Design Player and the new Export function.

Premier+ - Level 2 Jane McMurray Thursdays, January 26 & February 2 Fee- $50

1 PM—3 PM

This class is for Premier+ Embroidery Extra or Premier+ Ultra owners. We will be learning the op-tions available in the Edit Tab, Background Wizard, ExpressDesign Wizard, PhotoStitch Wizard, QuiltBlock Wizard, and Split Project Wizard. PRE-REQUISITE: Premier+ - Level 1

Software Sampler Jane McMurray Saturdays, January 28, February 25, & March 25 Fee- $45

Do you want to learn quick, easy digitizing projects? We meet each month and learn to digitize a new, complete project using the 6D or Premier+ software.

Premier + Cross Stitcher Jane McMurray Saturday, January 28 Fee- $50

1 PM—5 PM

We will be working with the Cross Stitch module to learn to create beautiful cross stitch designs. We will learn how to create a cross stitch from a photograph, a background design and create your own cross stitch sampler starting with a blank design area. You will learn how to make your embroidery design look just like it was hand-embroidered.

Premier + Modify (was Stitch Editor Plus) Jane McMurray Saturdays, March 11 & 25 Fee- $50

1 PM—3 PM

We will be working with our Modify module (was called Stitch Editor Plus) to learn how to edit stitches, use Emboss to add patterns to our designs and use point morphing. We will learn to add cutwork stitches and make a reverse applique. Plus more...

Embroidery Classes

Embroidery Workshop—T-Shirt Insert Jane McMurray Saturday, January 14 $40

10:30 AM—3 PM (don’t forget to bring your lunch)

So you have just a plain ol’ T-shirt—well, let’s add an embroidered insert and jazz it up! You will learn to embroider the design on organza, heat cut the extra organza away and then add the insert to your T-shirt. You will need to purchase the design from www.myembroideries.com before coming to class. Please select pattern #142701 (Lace 1) in the correct format for your embroidery machine. Also, please place the downloaded design onto a USB stick or save it onto your embroidery machine before coming to class.

The entire class fee is due upon registration. Regis-tration can be made by phone with a credit card, by mail with payment included, or stop in the store.

If you are a registered student and need to cancel, a refund will only be given if you cancel 10 days or more before start date of the class. The refund will be given according to the method of original payment. Registration made within 7 days prior to a class will not be refunded. (provided the class will begin as scheduled).

Roberts Sewing Center reserves the right to cancel a class if the minimum enrollment is not met. A class will be canceled by Roberts 7 days before the class starting date if the minimum number of students has not been met. A refund will be given according to the method of original payment.

Supplies: Supplies are needed for almost all classes. The class fee covers instruction only. If you have supplies at home, please feel free to bring them. It would benefit you the best to purchase your supplies from us because we sell top-quality quilting fabrics and thread that will give your project the best results. If you cannot stop into the store to pick up your supply list, please let us know, we may be able to email the list to you. You may wish to confirm that the required enrollment has been met before purchasing your supplies.
