Now in it's 9th Smash Season, this show is the must seeof the holidays!! The evening is filled with the very best songs of the season, hilarious comedy, and Aurora's stirring tribute to our fighting men and women in the armed forces. A seasonal masterpiece that captures the allure and custom of holidays past and brings you magically back to a sim- pler time…a cup of eggnog for the holiday soul. About the Production The Aurora Theatre continues its 9th season with Hometown Holidays- Aurora's Canteen 2004. An original work conceived and created by Producing Artistic director Anthony P. Rodriguez and Associate Producer Ann-Carol Pence, Hometown Holidays- Aurora's Canteen 2004 is a rousing musical review that will get even the biggest Scrooge ready for the holidays. It is a show that cele- brates Americana and those things from our past and memories that make this season such a warm, spe- cial time. Reminiscent of the pageantry of Radio City Music Hall, or a Bob Hope Television Special, but in the intimate environs of the Aurora Theatre, this performance will take you back to a simpler time and fill your heart with the joy of the season. Some of the unforgettable melodies you'll hear include: Baby, It's Cold Outside, I'll Be Home for Christmas, Chattanooga Choo Choo and Yankee Doodle Dandy. This season's newest section celebrates the diversions of America and includes selections from The Wizard of Oz, Red Skelton's Freddy the Freeloader (America's favorite hobo) and the incomparable Roy Rogers and Dale Evens. Roy Rogers is important to highlight because of his connection to Buford, Georgia. One of Gwinnett County's foremost historical figures, Bona Allen, owned and operated a tannery, which made many of the saddles that the movie and televi- sion cowboys used. Local folklore centers around various trips those famous cowboys made to Buford to hang out with the locals, says associ- ate producer Ann-Carol Pence. Especially moving is the work of local artist Vic McCallum. His bronze sculp- ture commemorating Roy Rogers, Trigger & Bona Allen will be promi- nently displayed in Buford's town green area. I thought Aurora Theatre should do our part by using a portion of this year's holiday show to salute Roy & Dale.Anthony Rodriguez, Aurora Theatre producing artistic director adds, The element that makes 'the Canteen' so popular each year is its talent. What sets us apart from other holiday fare is that we find a theme and modify the show to reflect that theme. This year, we celebrate what it means to be American Made. Duluth was once a whistle stop as were many of the towns in Gwinnett and our show highlights the American institution of train and travel. By combining big band tunes like Take the ATrain with Chattanooga Choo Choo, our audience will be reminded of how special Duluth will always be for us.As always, the show will also include a stirring tribute to our fighting men and women in the armed forces. This year, Aurora Theatre is working directly with the United States Marine Corps Reserve as a drop site for Toys for Tots. The best way to describe Hometown Holidays- Aurora's Canteen 2004 is … a cup of eggnog for the holiday soul.

Got YourGAB-RRR???For the last three months, therehave been some timing issueswith the mailing of the Gab-RRR.The last issue took over 7 busi-ness days to arrive at mostaddresses in zip code 30096.Accent Mail has conferenced withthe staffs at our local post officeas well as at the regional distri-bution center located on BoggsRoad. All appear mystified aboutwhy there has been such a delayin delivery. With this issue ofthe Gab-RRR, we are sending outthree copies to each business onthe mailing list. (The cost ofissues 2 and 3 are being handledby Accent Mail.) We are mailingone issue with a first classstamp, the second with a carrierroute sort that should not be for-warded to the Boggs Road facili-ty, and the third under the nor-mal handling for bulk mail. Thebusiness liaison office at BoggsRoad has promised to track theissue from the Duluth Post Officeall the way through their facilityto try to determine what thehang up has been.

Accent MailOn the MoveAccent Mail ismoving its bulkmailing andprinting opera-tion to a new location onDecember 11, 2004. After 3years at its current location,Accent Mail has outgrown thefacility. Accent Mail is movingto a 3000 square foot suitelocated at the corner ofChattahoochee Drive and RogersBridge Road. This new facilityprovides greater space for stor-age of client's mailing pieces andenvelopes as well as a dedicatedspace for our digital printingoperation.

We certainly appreciate the sup-port of our landlord, DMA mem-bers Sharon and BernardRobertson of Duluth Packageover the past three years. Wethank them for accepting mailingmaterial for us when we wereaway.

We are in process of remodelingthe facility at this time with thehelp and assis-tance of DMAmembers Richand DonnaDaluga andMarlene andAlbertMarquez.Their help iscertainly appre-ciated duringthis rush time. We are mostgrateful to allthe DMA mem-bers whomailed with usover the past

six years. Without their patron-age, we would not be able toexpand. Just keep those cardsand letters coming!

Of course, our work would neverget finished without our mostexcellent associates, Mani Pateland Martha Burrell. Thanks!!

We are planning an open housein January after we've finishedsettling in. We hope to see youall then.

The end of theyear is the perfecttime to reviewyour website andgo through it with

a fine-toothed comb. The simplerand more user-friendly your site is,the more sales it will generate. Inorder to figure out what works andwhat doesn't, below you will find alist of some critical elements yoursite should include.

#1 An Attention-GrabbingHeadline: The headline is the keyelement of your site. It's what willpersuade visitors to stick around andcheck out what you have to offer.Your headline should be enticing-youwant to pique your visitors' interestand make them eager to learn moreabout what you are selling.

#2 User-Friendly Navigation:Your customers should know wherethey are on your site at all times, and should easily be able to findpages they've already visited. Makesure your navigation bar or menu isclearly accessible and easy to under-stand. It should be exactly the sameon every page of your site, and belocated in exactly the same place.Your customers shouldn't have tohunt for it.

#3 Effective Sales copy: Thesales copy is the only contact you'llhave with the vast majority of yourvisitors. Your sales copy shouldimmediately draw the reader in withexciting benefits and enticing copyso you can lead them toward thesale. Your sales copy should estab-lish your credibility and describe thebenefits of your product or serviceand explain why your visitors need it.

#4 A Clear “Call to Action”: Ifyou want people to buy your prod-ucts or services, you have to tellthem how to do it. You have toexplain exactly what you want themto do, and you have to make it easyfor them to do it. For example:"CLICK HERE NOW to order your six-month supply of Product X."

#5 Well-Chosen Images: Imagescan really help people visualize yourproducts or services and their bene-fits. Attractive product shots canreally boost your sales. If you havea lot of products for sale, use"thumbnails" that link to largerimages. This will make your pagesload more quickly.

#6 A Strong Opt-In Offer: Inorder to pursue a relationship withyour site visitors, you should collecttheir e-mail addresses by encourag-ing them to subscribe to a freenewsletter or a free download. Thiswill give you the chance to sendthem updates and information, develop relationships with them, andenable them to trust you enough tobuy from you.

#7 Testimonials: The best way toestablish credibility is to provide evidence that your product or service really works. And the bestway to do that is to include testimo-nials from satisfied customers thatexplain how your product or servicehas helped improve their lives.

#8 An “About Us” page: The bestway to overcome the reluctance tobuy things online because the personal interaction of doing business face to face is missing is to include an “About Us” page that provides information about you, your staff and your business.

#9 An FAQ page: A “FrequentlyAsked Questions” page is whereyou'll list the questions most commonly asked by your customersand provide answers to them. Itallows your visitors immediateaccess to the answers they needbefore they'll consider buying yourproduct or service.

#10 Your Contact Info: In orderto close sales and establish yourcredibility, you have to provide fullcontact information on your site.Businesses that only post emailaddresses on their sites come acrossas unprofessional and possibly evendisreputable.

Final Thoughts. To keep your site intop form, it helps to review your siteat least quarterly and create a list of“must do” actions you can do to getrid of nonessential clutter and simplify

the sales process. Also take the timeto browse through other sites(including those of your competitors)to see how your site compares andget ideas for improvement. Don'tforget, streamlined sites generatemore sales. If you include all theabove elements on your site, you'llbe well on your way to creating asite that attracts the sales you need!
