“Rouse Hill Town Centre – Our Largest Contract” The Rouse Hill Town Centre on Sydney’s North Western fringe is one of the largest building projects undertaken in

Australia during 2007.

Leda-Vannaclip has been proud to be associated with Bovis Lend Lease Pty Ltd (the Builders) on this mammoth

project. Stage one is complete and the second stage will open early 2008.

A wide variety of Leda’s security products have been

supplied and installed throughout the site. They included over 800 High Security Bollards. Fixed, locking and

removable and retractable stainless steel models were

required as well as 23 Bi and Tri-Fold security gates that were manufactured at our Williamstown Victoria Plant.

In addition we also manufactured and supplied large

quantities of bicycle racks and lockers for use throughout the Precinct.

Leda-Vannaclip staff has been involved with the

project from initial design stage to Project managing the installation and commissioning of our products in

the largest single contract we have undertaken to date.

“This project is one of the best examples of how

Leda-Vannaclip’s consultation and experience. Combined with our engineering and manufacturing

capabilities has assisted both the Architects and Builder”.

Camden Bollards For St Clair – Dunedin

Samson & Hercules Barriers

Australian High Commission Gate in New

Delhi, India

Our New Zealand distributor Hardings Traffic Systems has supplied our Camden precast concrete bollards in the

foreshore redevelopment at St Clair.

Despite the logistics of transporting these heavy concrete bollards such a long way, they were an excellent choice given

the seaside installation and corrosive environment.

The project was carried out by Naylor Love Construction Ltd in several stages over two years.

Leda Vannaclip continues to help secure Australian diplomatic facilities around the world, with the most recent being the

Australian High Commission in New Delhi, India.

The project involved a total of five automatic security gates, a combination of both cantilever and track styles, with the

main entry gate also being fully steel clad for additional security and privacy.

The gates were manufactured in L-V's Williamstown facility

As the name suggests these two new Precast Concrete Barriers are BIG. Both models can be used as free standing units or installed using Leda-Vannaclip’s

patented locking pin system (AP2006101002) that keys the barriers into the pavement, greatly increasing their impact resistance.

Both models are manufactured in three metre modular sections with the Samson

standing 1200MM high and Hercules much higher at 2000MM.

Weighing up to 8 tonne (each unit) they are substantial physical barriers against possible terrorist threats. They also will provide the mining and civil engineering

industries with high impact/protection options for plant and equipment.

The first order for the Samson Barriers are currently being supplied to protect an

LPG processing plant in the Otway Basin near Port Campbell in Victoria.

Details and specifications on these “Monster Barriers” are now available and can be downloaded from our website www.l-v.com.au

in Melbourne and shipped to India in a 40-foot sea container. The project presented substantial logistics issues and their route to final

destination in New Delhi was via Mumbai and involved sea, rail and road transport.

Kevin French, Leda-Vannaclip's electrical fitting specialist, spent 3 weeks in India supervising

all aspects of the unloading and installation, and completed all the commissioning of the

gates' automation systems.

Leda Vannaclip's CEO Richard Matthews, congratulated all staff involved in the complex project, "especially Kevin French who completed the project, in difficult circumstances, and most importantly for our client, both on time and on budget".

New Road Loop Guidelines Road loops are a critical component of gate and boom gate installations. The industry standard technique involves sealing the loops with a liquid resin material. This can be a messy business, which is unacceptable for aesthetically sensitive areas. Leda-

Vannaclip has spent the last four months researching and trialling new methods to seal in road loops. The result is a comprehensive document specifying the correct method for installation and sealing of road loops. Such guidelines improve our installations to be both effective and clean, leaving the site looking much cleaner than the existing methods.

Alternative Energy Technology: Powering Perimeter Security Equipment on Solar

a. Remote sites where the cost of supplying standard 240V electricity and data cabling is both costly or not feasible due to existing terrain. Secure sites such as car parks in nature reserves and limited-access mining areas are some examples.

b. Sites with infrequent or low cycle use of its main perimeter equipment. Industrial warehousing facilities and retail factory outlets are examples where the main gate is operated once in the morning and closed after hours.

c. Sites with a significant number of existing underground services where highly complex and careful civil work needs to take place.

d. Sites requiring seamless “plug & play” replacements or retrofits of ageing control systems / hardware with new ones. Such requirements may be necessary on sites affected by existing traffic conditions or with the potential of causing business

disruption. e. Sites where installation and maintenance of equipment can be undertaken by non-electricians.

“While solar power technology has been in use for many years across many applications, its take up within the Perimeter

Security market has been relatively limited due primarily to incompatibility of technology. Key concerns such as power storage

limitations, control panel reliability and an over-dependence on availability of direct sunlight have limited progress in this area.

“What Leda-Vannaclip has successfully done is to develop a single operating platform capable of utilising simple, low voltage motors and highly efficient control systems capable of operating on very low amounts of energy. Other key achievements also

include the highly efficient charging of batteries via the solar panel that is not reliant on direct sunlight. This is the holy grail of effectively implementing solar energy technology in our industry”, says Heng-Jiang Cheng, Leda-Vannaclip’s Group Product Development Manager.

As a recognised leader in the Australian Perimeter Security Market, Leda-Vannaclip invests heavily in the development of new perimeter security

products.

One key area we have been working on is in the area of solar powered equipment on low voltage.

Alternative powering options such as solar power addresses several key

areas currently limiting the use of most conventional perimeter security equipment operations. Examples where solar power can be applied include:

The NSW Security Industry Act now requires all official security organisations to undergo regulatory compliance to achieve standards compliance as well. All

ASIAL member companies are required to comply under articles 20c and 4I of the ASIAL constitution. Compliance inspections are organised and conducted by ASIAL's inspectors and

covers a myriad of requirements ranging from conditions employee’s licences to record keeping. Leda-Vannaclip is proud to have met all the requirements and

achieved compliance recently as this certificate testifies. Yet again we have not only met the standards but excelled, making Leda-Vannaclip the company to be

associated with when contemplating Perimeter Security products.

The project involved the manufacture and installation of our Perimeter Fencing and two electric powered swing gates that are internally operated via

a Chubb installed intercom system through the clients’ pabx.

A sloping roadway increased the complexity of the gate designs however once again our engineering team provided the solution.

The installation was project managed by our South Australian Installation and

Service Manager Greg Wells who managed to complete it on time despite atrocious weather conditions.

Leda-Vannaclip in conjunction with Chubb has successfully completed the installation of Perimeter Security at Toyota’s new training facility at Edwardstown,

Adelaide.

Message from the Chairman As the end of the year looms closer we can look back on 2007 as another milestone in our company’s development and growth.

A commitment to Research and Development has seen the design and prototyping of a myriad of

new products that will be released after testing in 2008 and 2009.

Planning is underway for our new high tech (barrier filled) bollards to be impact tested at the TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) outside London in the U.K. it is envisaged that a service of impact

tests using transit vans at various speeds will be undertaken.

David R. Matthews, Chairman

A recent installation of a Leda-Vannaclip cantilever gate at the Hospital incorporated a Clipsal 970MF10 mains rated filter cover over voltage protection switch. The additional filtering provided by the mains rated filter considerably slows down the rate of surge/spike

rise to further protect electronic equipment.

This additional option was requested due to the high incidence of lightning strikes in the area and to reduce and eliminate electronic surge damage making equipment inoperable in their critical location.

Several new gate designs including our new ‘modular’ and solar powered models have undergone successful cycle testing and will be available in our new Industrial range.

Building of Stage II (adding 3500m2 of manufacturing area) at Tuggerah Head Office is planned to commence early in 2008 and on

completion will provide ample increased manufacturing capacity for several years’ growth.

To all our clients, thank you for your support during 2007. We hope we can continue to supply your needs and requirements in 2008.

Leda-Vannaclip for many years as individual companies has worked hard to develop design and build World class security products. Clients have always demanded top quality

products and top quality after sales support. With the amalgamation of both companies, we have brought the service departments of both companies under the one central banner

of Securacare service program .

Like our products Securacare leads the way in the industry by offering the client what they want, when they need it. This program is made up of three simple modules being GOLD,

SILVER, BRONZE each module gives our clients a unique service program tailored for their needs.

♦ Gold - designed for Leda-Vannaclip products only and for clients who have to work to

a strict budget, by delivering a service program to fit with in an annual budget.

Securacare Service

♦ Silver - designed to cover clients who have a mixture of Leda-Vannaclip and third party products, and would like them all kept

in a serviceable condition with emergency coverage. ♦ Bronze - designed for clients that require 24/7 emergency coverage only on their critical perimeter security equipment.

Why Securacare and what makes it so special? Securacare is the way forward for the perimeter security industry, the amalgamation of both technologies bollards and powered

gates, giving our clients peace of mind in these testing times brought about by World events. As a company we will stand by our products to ensure they meet the design criterion that our clients employed them to perform, this can only be achieved by keeping

them in top working order, through their serviceable life

Securacare is closely linked to our warranty program, to enhance the product life and to make sure our products are kept in top working order, like all products if you look after them, they will look after you. Securacare you know it makes sense.
