“to be humble in success and without bitterness in defeat”

Homecoming: Despicable Mean Green

This year UNT’s homecoming theme was Mean Green on the Big Screen. Our wonderful

homecoming chair, Macy Villars decided on basing our week off of everyone’s favorite, Despicable

Me. We were paired with Theta Chi, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Phi Omega, Phi Kappa Tau, and Phi

Iota Alpha. They were awesome to work with, we all put in so many hours pomping and having fun at the same time. We placed 2nd in the banner competition and 3rd in Chalk the Campus!!! We got very little sleep all week, so that everything

could be just the way we wanted it, it was all worth it in the end. A big Thank You to Macy who

worked so hard all semester long!

Senior Spotlight: Krissy Costa

It seems kind of unreal that I sit here writing this

short paragraph about one of my best friends. Since Fall 2010,

Krissy has been a dedicated member of our chapter. I do not

know anyone who puts their whole heart into this chapter the

way Krissy has done. She began her Zeta journey as a very

hesitant member and has blossomed into a terrific leader who

many younger members look up to and aspire to be. She

served on PC as house manager and rocked it! After being on

PC for a year, she was asked to join EC and became our Risk

Reduction/Standards chair. She brought in new ideas and she

developed a position people wanted to be in charge of. This

past year she was once again on EC as our VP1 (Coordinator

of Committees) and she did nothing less than a phenomenal

job. She pushed her PC girls to try new things, to take risks,

encouraged them to never give up and to become stronger

leaders. As a result of the excellent job that she did to train

these girls into the leaders they are now, our 2014 EC consists

of 8 of her PC girls. Krissy is truly the definition of everything

a Zeta Lady and sister should be. Come May, she will be

graduating with a degree in English- she is currently applying

to graduate schools all over the country. Although we will miss

Krissy, she has gained a place in all our hearts, so she will

forever be with us. She has definitely left her mark and legacy

here at Gamma Phi and for that we are so thankful.

What better way to end the semester than

FORMAL! We were lucky enough to have

our Crown and Crest Formal at Delaney

Vineyards in Grapevine. We started the

night off by having College Guide take

pictures and boarding buses. As we arrived

to the venue we were seated and served a

delicious dinner, awards were given to our

best new member, best big and little, Zeta

lady, and our always hilarious Senior

Awards. We danced the night away and also

waited patiently at our photo booth. It was

a wonderful night that could not have

happened without our Social Chair,

Jennifer Garrett.

Congratulations…

Fall 13 for getting

initiated into our

wonderful sisterhood

And to our graduates who are

ready to take on the next step in

their lives. We will miss you all

tremendously

A HUGE thank you to our 2013 EC and to

our GA, Marnie for an amazing year.

Thank you for loving what ya’ll do, for

encouraging the chapter to be the best

it can be, and for dedicating yall’s free

time to our Fraternity and leading by

example. A special thank you to Marnie,

for being a wonderful advisor, for

always supporting us and being our

biggest cheerleader.
