Neurocom

Neurocom aims to develop and commercialize the world’s first cochlear implant (hearing prosthesis) implanted invisibly and permanently in persons suffering severe to profound hearing loss. Patient advantages include increased comfort,

esthetics, and of course improved auditory quality.

The implant’s design calls upon the latest technologies associating surgically implanted energy sources via a rechargeable battery, and auditory neuro-stimulative techniques adaptable to complex environments via an implanted microphone.

FIRE

“ALERT AND ACTION TOOLS DEVELOPED FOR FIREFIGHTERS BY FIREFIGHTERS” Project Fire is designed to help protect natural environments often threatened by forest fires. Portable sensors are installed in sensitive zones which collect information for transmission to a remote location through a highly-secured system for further analysis and treatment. The resulting data gives firefighters real-time intelligence allowing them to determine the best plan of action for rapid and secure fire extinction..

MISTRALS - RFID

“RFID for the Health Sector”

RFID is at the center of the SCS Cluster’s traceability projects. The long-term goal of these projects is to see the bar code replaced by the electronic tag, enabling intelligent objects to communicate with each other in the Pharmaceutical sector, including Hospitals and Biobanks.

SECURE MEDIA SIM

« PROTECTING MULTIMEDIA COPYRIGHTS » Protecting copyrights is a difficult task in today’s world. With easy accessibility to

downloading music and video on the Internet, the problem has become even more crucial for authors and artists alike.

The Secure Media SIM project will enforce copyright protection for videos downloaded onto mobile telephones by directly integrating a decoder into the SIM card, which is in turn

compatible with a multitude of DRM (Digital Rights Management) systems. The Secure Media SIM protects authors and producers by creating a concrete tool to manage digital

copyrights.
