Celebration of the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper

Please join us in celebrating the Lord’s Supper on Sunday, December

4, 2011 and on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at both services. Please

prayerfully prepare for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

The winter quarter (December-February) Bible study theme for Adult I will be “God estab-lishes a faithful people,” focusing on the Abrahamic covenant and will include selections in the

books of Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Galatians. The class meets at 9:15 Sunday mornings inthe Conference Room.

Christmas Cantata -- December 11

Please worship with us on December 11 at 10:30 AM. This service will feature our Christmas can-tata, handbells and our Cloud 6 dancers. Elder Jay Dunn will be preaching.

Congratulations to Dr. Kelly Samarzea

We offer our congratulations to our Director of Music Ministries, Kelly Samarzea, for success-fully passing the oral defense of her dissertation at Indiana University. She now officially holdsher Ph.D. Kelly will attend her graduation ceremony in December. Well done, Kelly!

"Outside of the gospels, Paul the Apostle wrote approximately 60 % of the New Testament. Each book reflected God’s revelation to him and through him. Paul was closing in on the endof his ministry. In the Book of Romans, Paul set forth a full and orderly statement of the great

principles of the gospel that he preached. Romans is the greatest exposition of Christian doc-trine ever written; a summation of all his individual letters with additional insights. During thenext quarter and perhaps beyond, the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be seen through the words of God’s servant Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles".

We had a lot to be thankful for at the Pre-Kindergarten during themonth of November. On our school spirit days, our students donated 60

cans and boxes for the food closet. The children brought in enough itemsto fill 17 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. We had so many itemsdonated that we were able to give the leftover crayons, toys, and toiletriesto the church to help with other church ministries, including a dozen extratooth brushes that will be included in the toiletry kits during PORT.

Our 3 year olds have hunted turkeys and our 4 year olds had aThanksgiving Feast, but now we are preparing for Christmas! Our annualChristmas Chapel program will be held on Wednesday, December 7 andThursday, December 8. The program will begin at 11:15 both mornings,so please come and join us as our children hear the Christmas story, singsongs, and ring bells. I am sure it will bring a smile to your face!

Children’s and Youth Sunday School

We have completed our lessons on the Bible stories illustrated in our church’s stainedglass windows. It was truly inspiring to go into the sanctuary each week and admire the

stained glass windows that were so beautifully created by our very own church members.

During the winter quarter our classes will be learning about the love of Jesus and the

love of God.

Our Kindergarten – 3rd grade class will learn about “Loving Jesus” – meeting Jesus, learningabout his promises and our love for him, too.

Our 4th & 5th graders will learn about the ‘Exodus to Ruth’ and the redemptive acts of God indealing with his covenant people. First topic – what does ‘redemptive’ mean???

Our Middle School Youth will learn more about the Bible’s unifying theme of God’s cove-nant. What is God’s covenant and what does it mean in our lives today?

Our High School Youth will talk about “Knowing the God Who Is”. How do we know God

exists? Is being a Christian worth it? What is God like? Why do we suffer?Join us at 9:15 AM for FUN and FELLOWSHIP while learning about our FAITH. A

light breakfast is provided.

Please accept this letter as an expression of thanks to the congregation of Denbigh Presbyterian

Church for their support during my time of illness.

As a church family, DPC surpasses other churchesthat we have been members of with respect to love,

caring, support and friendship.

Aurelia and I are thankful for the phone calls, prayers, cards, visits and other acts of kindness dur-

ing a very difficult time of personal illness.

My wish is that God will continue to bless usas a congregation that cares for each other and the

people we have been called to serve.

 Love for Christ,

 Lorenzo Grant
