On 4 November 2012, the ninth Community Health Day (CHD) event was held at SATA CommHealth Ang Mo Kio Medical Centre. Free health screening services ranging from blood glucose, cholesterol tests to osteoporosis assessment were provided to the Ang Mo Kio residents.

Mammography services and flu injections were also offered at highly subsidised rates.

The Guest-of-Honour for this community health care event was the Member of Parliament for Ang Mo Kio GRC, Mr Inderjit Singh. “These free health screening services are very useful in helping our Ang Mo Kio residents check their health status and are also great reminders that prevention is better than cure” said Mr Singhduring his visit.

One of the 200 participants, Mr Kong Kee Jou, had taken the chest X-Ray service and the pre-physiotherapy assessment. “I have been busy working and do not have the time to go for a proper medical check up. It’s great to have such a free health care event on a Sunday morning” commented the 57-year-old father of two. q

Aside from winning the Singapore Prestige Brands Award (SPBA) in the Heritage Brands category last year,

SATA CommHealth has once again clinched another SPBA recognition, under the Special Merit Brands category on 6 November 2012.

This Special Merit Brand was created in 2009 for recognising branding efforts ofgovernment agencies and non-profitorganisations with at least 3 years ofestablishment.

“Out of over 100 participating brands, SATA CommHealth is honoured to be recognised for its branding efforts while serving thecommunity through the decades. We would be further motivated by this achievement to deliver more brand value” commented Dr K Thomas Abraham, Chief Executive Officer of SATA CommHealth.

Since its rebranding exercise in 2009, SATA CommHealth has been constantly building its brand image through various outreach programmes such as anti-smoking school talks and free community health care events that uphold its mission of ‘Promoting Lifelong Health and Serving the Community’. q
