The creation of the Scholarship Fund was announced at the Annual General Meeting in 2009, and the first
scholarships were awarded at the 2010 Annual General Meeting.
The Caisse began with offering three University, two CEGEP and two High School students for a total of
$6,000 in scholarships. Two important changes were made in 2013 with the addition of $1,000 added to
C.E.G.E.P. that now includes vocational studies (two year program) and a $1,000 Bursary/Scholarship for the
Kanien’keha Language Program increasing the total to $8,000.
We are proud and honored, once again this year, to assist these hardworking students in their pursuit of a
higher education.

The Caisse Populaire Kahnawake hosted its Annual Christmas Party for the residents of the Kateri Memorial
Hospital, Elder’s Lodge and Day Center participants.
The festivities began with the Karonhianonhnha School Viva Sistema “Ratirennenha:wi” musical group. It
was a pleasure to hear these young talented girls play a variety of Christmas tunes.
The Ratirennenha:wi musical group consists of seven violins and one cello.
Also, on hand to entertain was our very own Peacekeepers John D. Delormier, Kyle Zachary with Gage
Diabo, not a Peacekeeper, however, a truly excellent musician. There was singing and dancing, and a good
time was had by all.
The Caisse is truly grateful to these fine young musicians for
volunteering to entertain our elders.
Gage Diabo is a classically trained
pianist, performing a solo.
