December 2016 Mary & Martha’s Message 16 Days of Activism — November 25 to December 10 Each year the national ECW participates in the 16 days of Activism - a program of addressing domestic violence across the world. Each day there will be a prayer/brief meditation/poem regarding the theme, "From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Make Education Safe for All". There will also be a piece of artwork on the screen and each day will be connected to a saint. By going to the ECW website you can sign in to receive the information for each of those days. Lessons & Carols Historic Nashotah House Seminary

5pm on Thursday, December 8 The Nashotah House Theological Seminar announces its Ad-vent Lessons & Carols program to be held Thursday, Decem-

ber 8th at 5:00 pm in Adams Hall on campus. The service will move from complete darkness to light, trac-ing the story of God's redemption of the world through the

birth of Christ. Lessons & Carols is open to all and does not require a ticket. A free-will offering will be taken during the ser-vice. Nashotah House Seminary is located at 2777 Mission Road Nashotah, WI 53058.

"Practicing Simplicity through Advent"

Members of the diocese and community are invited to "Practicing Simplicity through Advent" on Satur-day, December 3rd (9am - 12:15pm) at St. Mark's Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 2618 N. Hackett Ave-nue, Milwaukee 53211. A morning of practicing simplicity through medita-tion, journaling, and reflection led by The Rev. Scott Stoner of Living Compass and The Rev. Ian Burch, rector of St. Mark's. Everyone is welcome. All who attend will be provided with a copy of Practicing Sim-plicity with All Your Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind and a moleskin journal.
