A Preparational Guide For The Millennial Era January 2017: Vol. 1: Issue 1

HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE BUSINESS SELLING T-SHIRTS (BEFORE THE END OF THE NIGHT!) Many people think that it takes a lot of time, effort, and money to build an online business.

And it can.. But if you find the right programme and you know where to look, you could have a profitable business running in just a few hours, and do it for nothing at all.

Here’s one, very specific way how.

Take a look at a website called TeeSpring. - https://teespring.com/

TeeSpring is a programme that will take your very own designs and place them on items such as clothing, mugs, or stickers. As you sell your products, they will print, package, and ship your products directly to your customers for you.

• How To Build An Online Business Selling T-Shirts

• Affiliate Marketing: A Foot In The Door For Online Entrepreneurship

• Entrepreneur of The Month: The Ten Million Dollar Man, Sam Ovens

• Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself

IN THIS MONTH’S

ISSUE:

December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1

• Practical Steps For Finding Your Niche

Page 2: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

They make it super easy for anyone to create and sell high quality products with no risk. It’s totally FREE!

You don’t have to pay anything. Your costs to start this new online business venture = $0

You create your new clothing line then promote your products to customers all over the world. Once you reach a specific number of sales (you determine how many), the crew at TeeSpring will then fulfil all the orders. They will package and ship each product to the address of the buyer (so you don’t have to do anything).

Then you get to take all the profit from selling your shirts. This can be set up in less than an hour!

Here’s how:

#1: Go to www.teespring.com

#2: Click “Make A Product” on the top right hand corner

Page 3: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

#3: Design a tee

You can write anything you wish on your shirt, choose from many different fonts and colours. You can place pictures wherever you please and they have a bank of different artwork you can use.

* If you are a designer or an artist you can upload your own images in PNG format and they will print it onto the shirt for you.

Look, I just made this “Poop Emoji” Tee in less than 2 minutes haha!

#4: Choose your products, quality, & quantity

This is where you choose what you would like to sell and what quality you are after (obviously you pay more for better quality).

In my example I choose long sleeve tee’s using the cheapest shirts on offer, which will cost me $13.67 each if I buy 50 units.

Page 4: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

I am happy with this, so I will click “Sell This”.

#5: Set your goal & name your price

Now you need to choose how many shirts you think you will sell.

The more shirts you sell, the cheaper the cost will be per shirt. Your shirts will start to get printed once you have reached your quantity target. That way you have $0 of expenses to begin with.

For me, I choose 10 pieces. I’m not sure how many people want to wear a big piece of poo on their chest.

I will sell each shirt for $25.99

Once I sell all 10, I will make at least $104 in profit… Wohoo!

Page 5: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

#6: Start your campaign

Give your campaign a title, and description.

This will populate a link that will be used to promote your new tee’s.

#7: Promote your shirt

Now you should see your freshly designed shirts LIVE and for sale! That’s right, anyone in the world can buy this, and you will make a profit if you reach your target quantity.

Page 6: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

All you need to do is share this page and they can buy your shirt directly. See, here is mine: https://teespring.com/wasnt-me-tee.*Note: It may not be active any longer as this was just an example for you.

Promoting your shirt is where many come stuck. It can be a little frustrating in the beginning but here are a few ideas as to how you can promote your t-shirt online:

• Facebook, Twitter, Instagram: Share on your new designs on your profile to family and friends. They might just be the biggest supporters of your new designs and wear your “poo” shirts with pride!

• Pinterest: It’s time to get serious.. You could make a line of designs to do with a specific market or topic and create a board with all of your designs for people to browse and buy.

• Fan Page on Facebook: Start an official store! Upload all of your latest designs to your fan page as you make them, start building up a fanbase who like your style and encourage them to share with friends.

Page 7: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

• Blog/E-Commerce store: Start a blog and list all of the tees you have for sale. Link your blog with many social media sites and you will have an abundance of avenues where buyers can purchase your shirts through.

You see, that didn’t take long, did it! I have met people who are doing really well selling shirts through TeeSpring. One guy (can’t mention names) makes shirts based on different niches. He then promotes his shirts on Facebook to people who are interested in that niche… It’s a simple strategy, but it works for him!

p.s: Remember to check out the Training Centre that Tee Spring has on their site. If you’re gonna give it a go, you may as well do it the right way!

AFFILIATE MARKETING: A FOOT IN THE DOOR FOR

ONLINE ENTREPRENEURSHIP?

Many people have a negative conno ta t i on w i th a f f i l i a t e marketing… They usually think it’s a scam or some sort of pyramid scheme…

Yeah that’s right…. I said pyramid scheme.

*GASP*

But that’s seriously not the case… For most affiliate programs anyway.

Those are the go-to excuses for the people that like to make excuses for declining an awesome opportunity that could seriously change their lives and their financial circumstances.

Harsh truth… But sadly it’s true.

But we can honestly say affiliate marketing gave us our foot in the door for online entrepreneurship. Because of affiliate marketing we now:

• Know a truck load about online marketing;

• Have successful blogs;

• Have a loyal social media following;

• Have made hundreds o f thousands of dollars;

• Know how to market any product or service;

• Been able to travel the world full-time for the last 3 years;

• And have made a solid network of business partners and friends.

Basically affiliate marketing is majorly underrated by many and not even on the radar for many others!

But did you know, the top online entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield

Page 9: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc all do affiliate marketing as a sector of their businesses.

Plus, nearly all full-time travel bloggers do affiliate marketing to fund their lifestyle. Adventurous Kate, World of Wanderlust, Nomadic Matt etc; they all do it.

If that’s not enough to take affiliate marketing seriously, then I don’t know what is!

You can become an affiliate for copious amounts of companies/businesses these days. There are actually databases full of companies that you can search through and request to affiliate for.

Here are a couple affiliate databases to sign up for if this line of online work might interest you:

• CJ Affiliates: http://www.cj.com/ (CJ stands for Commission Junction) and;

• ClixGalore: http://www.clixgalore.com/

Page 10: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

Through their diverse databases you can become an affiliate for companies like: • Fitbit where you can earn 10% of sales, • Various travel companies like Contiki, airlines, car rentals, hotels etc • Health and Fitness companies, • Beauty companies • Home and garden, • Technology…

Seriously everything you can imagine!

The best way to go about affiliate marketing is to choose a niche in which you are passionate about and one you feel you have some knowledge on or are willing to learn more about. I personally like the travel niche because travel is a huge passion of mine, and when I began affiliate marketing, the aim was to be able to travel full-time.

For you, it may be entirely different. Perhaps you love makeup and find you’re actually quite skilled with it. You would focus on the beauty niche.

If you love gardening, then check out who you can affiliate for in the gardening category.

Page 11: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

But you can’t exactly just sign up to become an affiliate and expect to make sales out of nowhere.

So, you need to have somewhere online that people that people can visit and be interested in the products you want to affiliate.

A great place is a blog, a Facebook page, Instagram, Pinterest, and Youtube.

Create all of the above and write posts and reviews, film videos, and share experiences of you using products (that you affiliate for). You then provide a link where people can go to buy it themselves. You will be provided with your special affiliate links once you’ve been accepted into whatever affiliate program you apply for. So all you need to do is have that link on your pages so people can go and purchase what they want, and you will get commissions from any of the sales that were directed from you!

If you sell products that earn you small commissions, you will need to focus on volume to see decent profits. On the other hand, if you sell higher priced items that give

out large commissions, you can sell less and see nice profits. Have a search through the affiliate databases and see if any of the products get your creative juices flowing. But remember it’s not just these databases where you can find affiliate programs. Look on some of your favourite e-commerce sites and see if they have affiliate programs too. Reach out to smaller or local businesses and ask if you can sell their products on their behalf for commissions.

There’s many things you can do with affiliate marketing. There’s no right or wrong way about it… But just don’t underestimate your earning potential and the doors it can open for you down the road.

Now let’s dissect some popular travel blogs to see how they tie in affiliate marketing with their site:

KEEP SCROLLING

Page 12: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

(WORLD OF WANDERLUST)

Brooke is one smart cookie. She has one of the most successful travel blogs and a huge following! One way she incorporates aff i l iate marketing into her blog is through affiliating for fashion companies. She has these as her widgets on her blog. A lot of her following are sophisticated females who enjoy luxury travel and looking their best while on the road. Hence why affiliating for fashion brands and beautiful luggage brands was a great choice for her. If anyone clicks on these items from her widget, and then goes on to buy the item, Brooke will get a commission from the sale.

(ADVENTUROUS KATE)

Kate has a ‘resources’ tab on her blog which lists a whole bunch of travel resources in all kinds of categories. You can bet everything she links to on there, she will be an affiliate for. Travel booking sites, travel insurance and everything you can buy on Amazon (you can be an affiliate for amazon and earn commissions on anything they sell on there). Kate links to cameras, kindles, phones, travel accessories etc, on Amazon so will earn commissions if any of her readers ends up purchasing the item through her link.

Page 13: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

(NOMADIC MATT)

Matt also has a ‘resources’ page on his blog. But another way he uses affiliate marketing is actually by creating blog posts around the thing he is trying to sell. For example, selling travel insurance.

Basically in this blog post , Matt recommends World Nomads, which he u s e s a l s o a n d affiliates for. If his readers follow his advice in this blog p o s t a n d u s e s World Nomads for t h e i r t r a v e l insurance, he will earn a commission.

If affiliate marketing is something you think you would want to get into, Google search some successful blogs in whatever category/niche you would like to be in and see how they use affiliate marketing for monetising their site. Dig deep and see what they promote (and if you can promote the same thing), how they promote it (through blog posts, widget ads etc), and how they bring in traffic to their website. This will be the best first step in making something like this work for you! Don’t reinvent the wheel- model off someone successful and make it your own.

ENTREPRENEUR OF THE MONTH

THE ‘TEN MILLION DOLLAR’ MAN

THIS 26 YEAR OLD NEW ZEALANDER IS TAKING

OVER MANHATTAN

From homeless in Auckland, New Zealand to living in luxury in Manhattan, New York; Sam Ovens is one young gun we can all learn from.

Nowadays he’s:

• Earning upwards of $10 million a year;

• Helping people and businesses all over the world;

• Mixing and mingling with New York’s elite;

• Running multiple companies; • And living in New York’s (if

not the world’s) most sought after location.

As soon as I came across this guy, I was hooked.

I think I was initially drawn to him because like Nate and I, he’s a young kiwi. But after digging deeper it became a little more than that.

His teaching style is quite addicting. His easy going persona draws you in and it feels like you’re learning from a friend; not someone trying to lecture you only to come to a sleazy sales pitch at the end.

No, Sam is different.

His style is different.

And I t h ink tha t ’ s wha t ’ s contributed to his success that he sees today.

Page 15: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

But don’t be fooled by his easy going persona. This guy is sharp and on the ball… Obviously, considering the success he’s achieved by age 26.

Oh, and not to mention his suits are unquestionably dapper.

When living in New Zealand, Sam was on the ‘normal’ path like everyone else. He was studying at university and had that coveted internship at Vodafone.

But after only a couple of months at Vodafone, he started questioning everything he was working towards. Working for a company for 20-30 years wasn’t going to give him the success he desired.

So he decided to take matters into his own hands.

By 21, he dropped out of university, quit his job, and moved into his parents garage.

With nights sleeping on the couch, and spending the days working from a make-shift desk, Sam finally was ready to release his first business. It was a ‘reverse job board’ of sorts. Similar to LinkedIn.

It failed big time.

As did his following two other business ideas.

He puts that down to coming up with business ideas that he thought the market wanted. Not what they actually wanted.

Page 16: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

As soon as he realised the mistakes he made, he switched up his process.

He began some research and actually asked businesses what they were having issues with.

Turns out many were struggling with the new digital-era. Businesses were finding it increasingly harder to get customers once online marketing came in and changed the face of doing business.

This right here was a prime opportunity for Sam. He spent all his time learning everything from marketing, accounting, strategy, sales, and finance to personal development and overcoming his personal fears.

He then began his business of consulting businesses with the problems they were facing.

During his first year of consulting he made $100k.

In his second year: $500k.

Third year: $1.2 million

Fourth year: $2.4 million

And in his fifth year, by the time he turned 26, he exceeded $10 million.

By November 2015, Sam decided to make the move from New Zealand to New York. And his reasons are actually something to learn from.

He wanted to be in New York because it screams MONEY, WEALTH and LUXURY. It makes him feel abundant. Which in turn, helps with a successful mindset.

Page 17: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

He says, “New York makes me think bigger. I am poor in New York compared to other people. No matter how hard I work and how much money I make, I feel poor here. That motivates me. That is why I chose this city.”

The market for consultancy in the USA was also thriving compared to New Zealand. More people in the US are open to self/business improvement than in NZ. His consulting business was so wildly successful, consultants started coming to him for advice on how to get more clients and run a successful consultancy business like his. He started offering online Skype courses, teaching other consultants his strategies.

Then these consultants started seeing huge success.

Sam then decided to lay out his process and strategies within an online course which he sells online to consultants and aspiring consultants.

He now earns $100k per day selling these courses through automated marketing.

One of his biggest pieces of advice he gives (and I love this!) is that you don’t need to be an expert in anything. You just need to know a little bit more than someone else, or to know enough to be able to solve someone else’s problem.

Solving people’s problems is the best thing you can offer.

So spend all your spare time learning as much as you can to know just enough to solve someone else’s problem… And get paid for it.

Seriously this guy has so much to teach. Even from all his free content on his website and Facebook page, I come out feeling filled with

Page 18: December 2016 : Volume 1 : Issue 1 HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE ... · • Mindset Must Read: Choose Yourself IN THIS ... entrepreneurs like Amy Porterfield Bob Proctor, Frank Kern etc

knowledge and inspired to follow what he says.

Not to mention his consultancy course is top-notch and one where thousands have seen success from his teachings (he’s created 9 millionaires from this course!…. DAMN!).

Here’s his course & a free training of his to check out if it’s something that could help you.

Well I’m feeling pretty inspired! What about you?

4 IMPORTANT LESSONS YOU’LL

LEARN FROM SAM OVENS:

1. The world’s most powerful 3 letter word is “ASK”. The world has a way

or rewarding those who ask for things. As the saying goes, “Closed

mouths don’t get fed.”

2. Focus on the basics, not the complexities. As long as you

consistently offer value and offer solutions for people, it’s not going to

matter what colour header your website has.

3. You must be able to sell yourself before selling anyone else. If you can’t get behind and believe in

whatever you are selling, how can you expect to ask that from anyone

else.

4. Get over fear of rejection and fear of failure. Rejection and failure are two things that are going to happen on your path to entrepreneurship;

face them head on.

START UP TIPS FOR SUCCESS

FINDING YOUR NICHE

We talk a lot about niches and creating a business around your passion within a specific niche… But what exactly is a niche and how can you find one? A niche is a specific segment or category within an industry or market. For example, there is the travel industry… But a specific niche within that could be solo female travel. Or adventure travel, luxury travel, the list goes on! So what is a good way to discover your own profitable niche?

Here’s some practical steps for you:

1.Identify Your Niche

What do you love to do? Do you love being a parent? Do you love reading? Do you love surfing? Traveling? Interior design? Fashion?

Get SpecificBy going even more specific within your passion, you could eliminate a tonne of competition. If your passion is fashion, can you specify it just to handbags? Or shoes? If your passion is being a parent, can you specify it to something specific like solo parents? Corporate parents? Same sex parents? Start specific then as time goes on and your audience has been built, you can widen your focus to include other things.

Research

2.

3. Research the other businesses in the same niche as you. What are they doing right? What are they doing wrong. What are they selling? What content and value do they give their audience? How can you be better?
