Ho..Ho..HUMPF! One more carol, one more ‘glowing’ candle, one more Jolly Old Elf and I am going to lose my figgy

pudding! The holidays can drive you over the edge! It seems everyone wants you or no one wants you. Buy gifts but no

money or no one to buy gifts for. Does anybody really care?

This is the most wonderful time of the year? Again, HUMPF!

But wait. People who care are all around you: family – some by blood, some by choice; friends; neighbors; the person who

amid the chaos shares a wonderful gift with you, a smile! We at the Neptune Senior Center care too.

The writer Donald Westlake said, “As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations, compounded by December's

bad weather, it is good to be reminded that there are people in our lives who are worth this aggravation, and people to

whom we are worth the same."

Sometimes it is hard to remember that everyone has value. No matter how Grinch like they seem, they bring a truly

unique gift to share; themselves. During this holiday season take a moment to give someone something special to let them know you are thinking of them. Give them a smile and, who

knows, maybe you will just get one in return!

However you celebrate this season, know that you are priceless to your friends at the Neptune Senior Center.

Peace be with you.
