Hi Vette Set Members,I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please be safe and have a wonderful holiday season. I’m very happy that we have 65 members signed up for our Christmas party, I’m not sure, but this could be a record.

Thanks to the efforts of Diane and Lee Feherfor doing such a great job finding the location and pulling all the detail issues together.

In case you were not at the December general meeting, your current club officers have all been voted in and are happy to lead the club for 2020. I’m looking forward to an exciting year with many club activities including our banquet in February, day and weekend runs, and other get togethers with our members.

I’m looking forward to the delivery of Chuck’s new red C8 and seeing other C8’s in the dealership. This is an exciting time to be a member of our Corvette club.Again, have a Very Merry Christmas!

December 12 --- Thursday night Holiday Party 6-11pm at Ayres Hotel, 14400 Hindry Ave in Hawthorne, 90250. Cost is $45/person and includes dinner buffet, music and dancing. February 1, 2020 --- Awards Banquet will be held at the Automobile Driving Museum, 610 Lairport St, in El Segundo.

Museum in Motion: Le MansJoin them on their 5th adventure to France for the 24 hours of Le Mans race. Here is the chance to see Corvette Racing in the new C8.R against the world's best GT cars in the most famous race of all. Just a few highlights of the tour include stops in London, Paris and of course Le Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans Track). They will have professional guides with you the entire trip to assist with your travels. After four nights in London and three nights in Paris, you will travel to Angers where you will stay throughout the Le Mans race. You will depart Angers and travel back to Paris for one last free day, then check out of your hotel and continue with your plans of either more travel or to the airport. Hotels, ground transportation, tour tickets, all breakfasts, some meals, Le mans admission with grandstand seats and corral tickets are included. They have a very limited number of openings so make your plans early to join them in making memories, new friends, and seeing the beautiful London & France.

However, on MY TV at home I have seen commercial after commercial about Chevrolet offering employee pricing discounts on new Chevrolet's. As always, when I tell you there are discounts available, ALWAYS start in the sales manager's office to inquire about them and then you can select a sales person from there. If at any time you are not satisfied with getting a good deal please contact me at home and I will be happy to come to WIN and assist in any way that I can. I am the one that the owner has often told me to get members to buy cars.

Striving for Sensory Inclusiveness

In 2020, the National Corvette Museum will begin taking steps to become an "inclusion certified" museum. This will let individuals and families affected by autism and other sensory diagnoses know they are a sensory-safe place for all guests.

In an effort to kick off this new initiative, the Museum partnered with local organizations that are already community leaders in raising awareness and promoting inclusion through special trees in the exhibit areas. Thank you to our friends from the Kelly Autism Program and the H.I.V.E. Come see the 50s/60s inspired tree and the 'donut' inspired tree by their friends.

2020 Corvette Makes Car and Driver 10 Best List

Car and Driver has released the 2020 10 Best winners, representing the smartest, most entertaining vehicles you can buy today. They are picked after an exhaustive evaluation of this years new or significantly refreshed models as well as last year's defending 10 best honorees. For two weeks, the editors drove, measured, tested, and scrutinized 92 cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans.

There are no categories on the trophies, though, . To earn a 10 best win, a vehicle must prove itself against contenders as diverse as the automotive industry. Every winner must deliver exceptional driving engagement, offer indisputable value and/or practicality, and fulfill its mission better than any of its competition.

The NCM Motorsports Park has a small fleet of the latest model on order, and you can book some time behind the wheel of one, or give a gift card for track activities.

Touring laps in the 2020s are $299. Corvette Experience dates for 2020 are now available for booking. The program is $799 and includes classroom sessions alternating with three 20-minute sessions of seat time. Lunch and a guided V.I.P. Museum tour are also included.

Chris and Kelley Donlou were inducted as new members into The Vette Set at the December meeting.

Bob was officially named the club “Filmmaker” and was presented a title to hang from his membership badge. This was done to acknowledge all of the films made by Bob. At this time there is no title of a club filmmaker in the By-Laws, which means that this will be sorted out by Jerry Clement, By-Laws Chairman, and President Rob.
