NEWS FROM HQ

ANNUAL STAFF SURVEY TO TAKE PLACE IN MAY 2020

Please be informed that the ICTS UK & Ireland Board has decided to change the date of our annual employ-ee survey. Instead of it running in November, it will now take place in May. Please keep an eye open for further communication

about this survey – all our voices matter and it is im-

portant we all participate in the survey.

END OF YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE MD, ANDY KYNOCH

What another remarkable year we have all had and how fast it has flown by!

Let’s take a brief review of what the Company has achieved, in fact you have all achieved, for the suc-cesses are down to you. I thank you all for every-thing you do each and eve-ry day in your work for ICTS. You are unbelievable!

January saw the start of the coveted American Airlines contract at Dublin and WFS Cargo at Heathrow. Febru-ary saw a new contract in the Corporate world with CISCO and more contracts came throughout the year: CyrusOne, WeWork and GE Healthcare to name but a few. Further contract wins continued and some nota-ble ones. Our first ever Corporate Security contract in Ireland, started and sees us securing over 20 sites be-longing to the Irish Aviation Authority. Hopefully this will be the first of many in that wonderful country. We also secured the American Express contract for a sec-ond continuous time, the first ever security contractor to do that. ICTS’ first joint venture with Office Conci-erge (sister company) saw us secure London’s 80 Strand contract. I am certain there will be more such partnerships in 2020.

On the technical side we continue to grow in the area of CCTV installations coupled with our daughter com-pany, ASM, which is remarkable. We retained the prestigious Bristol Airport contract this year too, which was excellent in the face of stiff competition and is in-dicative of the work done there each and every day. Even though we lost some Amazon locations due to a corporate decision to split the huge number of UK sites between three contractors, we retained the lion’s share and go from strength-to-strength there. Our Ca-nine Division continues to grow and is looking forward to a flourishing business next year. There are so many opportunities coming in that arena.

Southampton Airport completed its first year in May and more recently we were awarded Glasgow and Ab-erdeen Airports which will commence operations on 17 December 2019, in just a few days.

I have been so impressed with everyone who has worked diligently on the contract commencement and I look forward to welcoming new colleagues to our business when that happens.

In fact, I have been thoroughly impressed with the staff I have met so far, who will be joining ICTS. That will take our Airport security operations to four in the UK and it is my desire to win more in the future.

In September, I was very proud to hear first-hand from a senior Captain with BA, who chairs the British Airline Pilots' Association, about how well we were doing at Heathrow. He asked what our secret was.

You may ask why am I mixing all of these comments up between the Divisions. It’s because you are all equally important to me and I respect everything each and every one of you has achieved this year for ICTS.

Christmas came early for us: on 20 November we again won the coveted ACS Champion of the Year Award for the second year running.

There is a renewed ‘buzz’ in the Company. I can feel it, and many tell me they can too. I am sure this renewed vigour will see us well into 2020, with further growth and rewards. It is a privilege to stand side-by-side with all of you.

So, as 2019 leaves, I would like to take this opportunity to once more thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the work all of you have done this past year and wish you, your families and loved ones, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

- Andy.

ARMED FORCES COVENANT DINNER ON TUESDAY, 10 SEPTEMBER 2019

Kerry Louw, HR Business Partner, writes “ICTS has signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant in order to support all Reservists within the business. Abbie Ban-tock and I were invited and we went to show our sup-port and to raise the name of ICTS. It was a very interesting evening where we got to meet many Reservists and permanent members of the army. We had a few speakers from around the country who told us of their experiences and what it meant to them to work for a business which had signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant and therefore supported them fully in terms of the time they required away from the business either for training or deployment.”

TRAINING AND QUALITY

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS MODULE

Sarina Reuben, Aviation Training Manager, ICTS UK & Ireland writes, “On Thursday 3 October 2019, I deliv-ered an ‘Emergency Preparedness Module’ to HQ staff, discussing how to prepare for emergencies rang-ing from terrorist threat to fire and cyber attack. Members of staff shared their experience of the 7/7 bus bombing in front of Tavistock House in London and we discussed how to educate ourselves in order to have better awareness of emergency planning. Staff watched the Run-Hide-Tell video which demon-strates response in case of a shooting attack and I re-minded staff of the citizenAID app which gives a wealth of information on emergency responses and first aid. The training was welcomed and feedback was posi-tive.”

ASM DOUBLES ITS SCORE IN A RECENT SIA ACS AU-DIT

Congratulations to the ASM team for doubling its score in a recent SIA Approved Contractors Scheme (ASC) audit.

Ian Rossiter, ASM Operations Manager said, “Under the guidance of the company’s Business Assurance team, we are raising standards and ensuring we are delivering a top service to our clients. We are delight-ed with this audit result which confirms the effective-ness of the continuous improvement plan we have in place.” ASM, a subsidiary of ICTS UK & Ireland, is an Alarm Re-ceiving Centre (ARC) and Remote Video Response Cen-tre (RVRC), located in Manchester. ASM’s NSI Gold ap-proved ARC and RVRC can monitor tens of thousands of connections worldwide 24/7. These include CCTV systems, intruder devices, fire signals and bespoke re-mote concierge services with intelligent visual verifica-tion.

WELCOMING NEW STAFF

DANIELLE BOYLE — BID WRITER (BIDS & MARKETING DEPT.)

“I am excited to be joining ICTS as a Bid Writer. Eve-ryone has already been very welcoming and I’m looking forward to visiting more of the ICTS sites and operations.

Most of my bid writing experience has been gained within the con-struction industry. Before going back to university to

get my master’s degree last year, I spent 3 years in bids and compliance working for a company specialis-ing in remediation and civil engineering. I finished my MA in September writing a dissertation about con-temporary apocalypse narratives. So if you’d like to know how to survive a zombie apocalypse, I can give you some tips! I also spent some time briefly within the fundraising department in the Institute of Engi-neering and Technology, whilst studying.

In my spare time, I can be found attempting aerial silks classes and inevitably falling onto crash mats.”

LAWRENCE AGGREY-FYNN - IT MANAGER (IT)

“Joining ICTS as the new UK & Ireland IT Manager marks an exciting new chapter for me in my ca-reer.

My 16 years since obtain-ing my BSc in Computer Studies have seen me as an IT Project Manager, a UK IT Manager and a Business Partner for IT amongst other roles.

I’ve covered responsibilities such as desktop support, server and network installs, site infrastructure moves and IT infrastructure migrations.

I’ve grown and led IT support teams in the accomplish-ment of much the same sort of work and during my time as Business Partner for IT, alongside my ongoing Team management responsibilities, I took on more long-term IT planning using the latest IT advance-ments, industry best practice and relationships with senior management.

Outside of work, I’m a typical North London geezer who watched his boyhood team lift the Champions League trophy whilst in Madrid (come on you Mighty Reds!!), tries to get to all the Electronic, Jazz, Funk & Soul music festivals he can, travels often and can also be found at one Cinema festival or other.

I look forward to bringing all that I’ve learned to what

appears to be a fantastic business and a real leader in

its field.”

HAPPY RETIREMENT

EILEEN JACKSON MBE (SUPERVISOR AT BRISTOL AIR-PORT)

Eileen Jackson MBE, said, “I will miss the Company and the people. I have been at Bristol now for 25 years and have enjoyed the most part of my time here. There have been some very difficult days, espe-cially within the last three years, but all in all, I will miss the airport environment.

Thank you to the following members of staff for their commitment and loyalty to the organization: 30 YEARS’ SERVICE

Donald Hewitt (London Gatwick Airport)

Congratulations to Donald Hewitt on 30 years’ service with ICTS UK & Ireland. Donald joined ICTS at London Gatwick Airport in July 1989 as a Security Agent.

“Before starting with ICTS I was a builder/plumber and I then found some work at weekends at Gatwick Airport as the building trade became unreliable.

With ICTS I have worked as a Profiler, Cargo Operative and for the past 15 years, a Hold Baggage Screening Operative.

These past 30 years have passed by so quickly.”

Andy Kynoch (MD), and Neil Hodgson (Regional Man-ager – Aviation Security) met Donald at a pub of his choice famous for brewing its own ale, to mark the occasion.

15 YEARS’ SERVICE

Itai Sher (Corporate Security)

“My first Job in the UK was with ICTS, I was in-terviewed by Shai Meirav for the position of Strategic Contract Manager at the Royal Berkshire and Battle Hospitals in Reading. This was two weeks after my family and I had relocated to the UK. I can still remember the train ride from Notting-ham and how nervous I

was drinking coffee in the cafe right next to Tavistock House waiting for my interview. Following an inter-view with the client, I was very fortunate to get the job.

From then on, it was a learning process. I was privi-leged to be exposed to, manage and oversee a num-ber of contracts such as Amazon, Eurotunnel, Middle-sex University, Southbank University, Thames Valley University, City Of Westminster College, Ealing, Ham-mersmith & West London College, the CAA, Luton Hospital, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, Heathrow Express, First Great Western and a few more, some which I cannot disclose, but was very proud to be a part of.

I was also lucky to be part of the training team and in particular the CMI and Project Griffin. This allowed me to meet many Managers and hopefully contribute to their development / prospects.

Throughout my career with ICTS I have met great peo-ple, clients, managers, leaders and staff. I have had many experiences which allowed me both to grow and to support others. I was put in a position where I could influence people’s lives and hopefully I did for the best.

Since March 2019, I have been assigned to a new pres-tigious contract in the financial industry as a Global Account Manager. I have a great team, a great client and support from my Line Manager (Peter McGowan), ICTS Europe, mainly Boaz (Derhy), Shai (Meirav) and other Managers in our subsidiaries).

Photo (L-R): Itai Sher (Global Ac-count Manager) with Peter McGowan (Divisional Director—Corporate Security).

Supporting our client in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) has allowed me to work with our Man-agers in other subsidiaries and other partners across the region.

Throughout my years with ICTS, I have been in many roles, I have seen the Company shrink and grow, Man-agers come and go, I have seen ICTS evolve, taking on different forms, structure and direction. It has been a journey.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the peo-ple who I have worked with. I am looking forward to further growth and progress.”

Fiona McElroy (Regional Manager – Ireland)

“I started with ICTS in Oc-tober 2004 as a Trainee Manager based at Dublin Airport. I had previously worked with ICTS whilst in college so had a lot of op-erational experience al-ready. A few months later, I moved into the role of

American Airlines Contract Manager. Their inaugural flight was in May 2005 and with that came two abso-lutely awesome trips to Dallas! Following on from that, I moved into the role of Station Manager for Dublin and more recently, Regional Manager for Ireland.

I’ve been privileged to be part of such an amazing journey with ICTS – I’ve spent over half my life here!! I’ve witnessed the growth and development of the Company within Ireland, right from the very start and I am so excited for what the future may bring.”

Although we have grown very successfully within the airport, I would now like to see ICTS develop their presence within the PSA (SIA) marketplace. We were recently awarded a contract to guard several Air Traffic Control centres and critical navigational infra-structure across the country. I hope this is the starting block to many future PSA contracts which will see con-tinued growth for many years to come.

Photo (L-R): Fiona McElroy (Regional Manager) with Graham Clare (Station Manager at Dublin Airport). Zahida Mirza (London Heathrow Airport)

“It has been a really good experience the last 15 years. I have made a lot of friends in ICTS and have enjoyed my time.”

Photo (L-R): Johnathan Kilroy (Duty Manager), Zahida Mir-za (Security Agent) and John Amegatcher (Supervisor).

Sharon McDermott (Manchester Airport), “I have enjoyed my 15 years here. It’s been good meeting all different kinds of people, and how each day is different. I have made some really good friends over the years and will continue to enjoy working for ICTS.”

Photo (L-R): Gareth Jones (Duty Manager) and Sharon McDermott (Security Agent).

Bernadette Maher (Manchester Airport) “I have thoroughly en-joyed working for ICTS for the last 15 years. It’s been a great laugh and I have made some amazing friends. I usually work in the catering facilities, which I do enjoy. Not one day is the same and that is what has kept me so interested in the time I

have worked here.”

Photo (L-R): Alex Timperley (Durity Manager) with Bernadette Maher (Security Agent).

Graham Clare (Dublin Airport) “It feels strange to be putting something to-gether for 15 years of service with ICTS. I can remember my thoughts when I started back in September 2004 – Well this will do until Christ-mas and sure we’ll see from there!!! During my time with ICTS in Dublin I have seen a huge level of growth. Like all of the

management team here, I started my ICTS life as a Se-curity Agent. Back then, I think the entire team con-sisted of about 25 Security Agents. There were only 5 US flight departures; a busy day. Compare that to now: we are covering approx. 33 daily flights with a team of about 180 Agents.

I always enjoyed working as an Agent as you spend your day working in several areas with different peo-ple and the days seems to pass by very quickly. Ameri-can Airlines came to Dublin a few months after I start-ed. ICTS needed to promote Leads and Duty Interna-tional Security Coordinators for the flights. I got my application together as soon as I found out that suc-cessful candidates were sent to Dallas for a few weeks training. After spending a few very enjoyable years working on the American Airlines contract I then moved to a Duty Manager position. The step up to Du-ty Manager was a real challenge as the role is a lot more demanding but very rewarding as you felt a great deal of satisfaction resolving and overseeing all the various issues that would arise each day. I later moved from the DM position to Asst. Station Manager and then to Station Manager this year. Each step up the ladder has had its own difficulties and rewards.

Over the last number of years I have witnessed ICTS UK & Ireland grow exponentially in all aspects of its business profile. Credit must be given to the current senior management team for their ability to maintain the close personal relationships throughout the expan-sion. No matter what difficulties are to be faced, you knew that support was always there.

Soochita Gopaul (London Heathrow Airport)

"It has been an amazing 15 years and the Com-pany has always looked after my every need and if they were unable to they always gave me other options.

I have enjoyed my time at ICTS and look forward to the years to come."

Roberta Puccinelli Sher (Bids & Marketing Dept., HQ) “I have the privilege of

cess stories – getting to

who make up the very

fabric of ICTS UK & Ire-

land. I still work closely

with many who I have

known since the start

of my career with ICTS

I shall always be extremely grateful to ICTS for giving

me the opportunity to work flexibly enabling me to

bring up a young family alongside a rewarding career.

I am very proud to join the many who have marked

EMPLOYEE(S) OF THE MONTH AWARD

August 2019: Abdul Malik

Congratulations to Abdul Malik (Aviation Security), for being awarded Employee of the Month of August 2019. Abdul, who is based at London Gatwick Airport, has been recognised for the provision of excellent custom-er services. During the boarding of a Thomas Cook flight to Orlando, Abdul assisted a family with reduced mobility ensuring that they boarded the flight timely and without attention being drawn to them. The family took the time to contact ICTS and wrote the following to Brian Parker, ICTS HBS Account Manager, “I just wanted to reiterate to you how helpful he (Abdul) was. My son has special needs and Abdul went above and beyond what he needed to do to help us through the check-in, gates, security and to the plane to make it as smooth as possible. I really appreciated his help. Fantastic, we cannot thank him enough.”

Congratulations to Barrie Pratt (Aviation Security), for being awarded Employee of the Month of September 2019.

Barrie, who is a certified paramedic and a member of our team at Bristol Airport, identified and attended to an unresponsive baby. Barrie performed CPR on the baby until the First Responders arrived on the scene.

ICTS was later advised that the baby suffered from a heart condition and Barrie’s actions prevented what could have been a tragic outcome.

Kevin Shopland (ICTS Station Manager at Bristol Air-port) said, “Barry is a very conscientious member of staff. He saw his efforts as a team effort, which was nice to hear.”

“It was a real team effort. Everyone reacted quickly and

calmly to deal with the situation. No words were said, everyone just

reacted instinctively.”

October 2019: Nazia Qaisar, Brian Doig

and Robbie Clarkson

Congratulations to Nazia Qaisar (Corporate Security), and Brian Doig and Robbie Clarkson (Aviation Securi-ty) for being awarded Employees of the Month of Oc-tober 2019. Since joining ICTS a few months ago, Nazia has consist-

ently delivered a top-class service, going above and

beyond what is expected of her. Her hard work and

commitment has been noticed by the WeWork com-

munity and she has received numerous letters of

praise as well as being awarded WeWork’s Contractor

of the Month Award, for which she was presented

with an gift voucher.

Robbie and Brian are dedicated and professional, a

real credit to ICTS and Edinburgh Airport. Whilst work-

ing at a departure gate they noticed a person who had

bypassed security. They worked closely with the Police

to stop this individual.

As a result of this incident, Edinburgh Airport Police

nominated Brian and Robbie for the Airport’s Shining

Star Award, as their actions had fulfilled the six core

business values of Edinburgh Airport's staff and its

business partners.

“Congratulations to our amazing duo from Edinburgh Airport—

Robbie and Brian!

NEWS FROM OUR CONTRACTS: CORPORATE SECURITY

SECURITY AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS AT EPSOM AND ST HELIER UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS TRUST

The ICTS Security Team at Epsom and St Helier gave patients and staff at the hospitals a masterclass in keeping their belongings safe recently, during a two-day awareness campaign in September. The theme of the campaign was the importance of keeping contents of handbags and wallets secure. During the course of an hour, the ICTS Security Management team based at the hospitals, met with NHS staff, contractors and the general public, explaining the importance of only tak-ing necessary items with them to work and to make sure that they didn’t have too many items containing personal details in handbags and wallets. The ICTS team demonstrated how easy it is for crimi-nals to scan RFID (Radio Frequency Identification De-vices), such as bank cards and passports, to obtain bank and personal details. Security Contract Manager at the hospitals, Paul Grze-gorzek, said: “Every year, more than 500,000 come to the hospitals for care and treatment - that means that our buildings are very busy places and are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In these busy and open surroundings, it’s vital that staff and patients know how to keep their possessions safe and can take some basic steps to help protect themselves against crime. Of course, our security teams are on site at the hospitals around the clock and are always on hand to help, but we do need people to be aware of the poten-tial risks and make sure they are doing what they can to keep their belongings secure.” The events were held in the hospital restaurants so as to receive maximum exposure and our Security Offic-

ers handed out leaflets whilst on patrol across the Hospital wards. To further encourage engagement, prizes were given out to those who had three items or fewer in their handbags or wallets.

October’s Security Awareness theme was on Bike/Motorbike security. Mike Gale, ICTS Operations Manager at the hospitals, said, “We had a good attendance from across the Trust and were lucky enough at Epsom hospital to be joined by two Officers from Surrey Police. Paul (Grzegorzek) created a leaflet for both bike and motorbike security which we handed out on the day. ICTS Officers on their patrols the week before handed out flyers to all departments at the hospital. Overall it was a great success.”

DIGGER – AN EXPLOSIVES SEARCH DOG AND PETS AS THERAPY (PAT) DOG

While off duty, ICTS Handler, Dave Frost and his Explo-sives Search Dog, Digger, spend time in the local com-munity. Dave and Digger routinely volunteer at Little Havens Hospice for children, based in Thundersley, Essex. “Just over a year ago Digger became a certified Pets as Therapy (PAT) Dog and since then, we have been spending time with children and their families at Little Havens. Digger’s incredibly calm and gentle tempera-ment makes him a perfect PAT dog. We get to meet children of all ages with life-limiting conditions and hopefully make a difference to their day” said Dave Frost, ICTS Handler, Canine Security Services.

FAREWEL DELBOY

Some of you may remember the story featured in our December 2015 Newsletter, about Explosives Search Dog, Del finding a new retirement home with Natalie Morton. Natalie has recently been in touch again -

“In 2015 I decided I needed to get a dog. My career as a journalist for BBC News and Current Affairs had tak-en me to many countries convulsed by war, including Iraq, Gaza and Afghanistan. But when a mortar bomb landed a metre from my vehicle in Syria, spraying the van with shrapnel and injuring me and my colleague, I realised my luck had run out and a major life change was in order. I knew that getting a pet would be thera-peutic and began to talk about getting a puppy. But when a military friend suggested adopting a retiring bomb disposal dog it seemed entirely serendipitous.

I met Jed Marshall, Head of Canine Services for ICTS who introduced me to Mark Goss, then ICTS Explosives Search Dog Handler and his black Labrador Delboy. I immediately felt a bond, and Jed and Mark were kind enough to let me have Delboy soon after.

ICTS CANINE TEAM SUPPORTING MIDDLESEX UNIVER-SITY’S FRESHERS’ WEEK

ICTS’ Drug Detection Dog Teams, Charlotte Smith and Carl Smart attended several events during this year’s Freshers events at Middlesex University in London.

Charlotte Smith, ICTS Handler writes, “We were there as part of the Security stand to inform all the students and staff on the reasons behind the use of the search dog teams on the campus and give everyone the op-portunity to meet the dogs. We were also very happy to answer any questions they had regarding drug edu-cation, the dogs and their training and our roles as handlers.”

What a wonderful four years we had together! In exchange for woodland walks, a warm bed, and a monthly overspend on balls; Del gave me so much empathy, affection and laughter. I have nev-er seen a dog smile. Del-boy grinned all the time – scaring off the postman who thought he was snarling. He loved bana-nas – skin off or on. He

would bring you his rope when he needed a pee. He was clever, quirky and never stopped wagging his tail.

In September he was guest of honour at my wedding. He looked so handsome – with barely a grey hair at nearly fifteen years of age. He quickly found his way to the venue kitchen and then the reception hall just in time for dinner, and my husband spent ten minutes chasing him around under tables before the meal could begin.

We thought he would live for a few more years be-cause he was so healthy and happy, but sadly that wasn’t to be. He had a very quick and dignified passing and he will be sorely missed and remembered always. Thank you Jed and particularly Mark – I know he was your best mate too.”

Jan Calvert, ICTS Supervisor at Glasgow Airport writes, “In appreciation of another successful season at GLA, Mark Hogg, Delta Airlines Station Manager, invited ICTS and all other airline service partners to a meal at a local Chinese restaurant. 40 lucky guests were treated to an amazing buffet of Chinese delicacies in a newly established local restaurant. Mark congratulated all on the Station’s achievement of successfully boarding approx. 25,000 passengers dur-ing the last 6 months with zero safety incidents report-ed and an impressive record of on-time departures. He confirmed that he was looking forward to the air-line returning to GLA in May 2020 for another busy summer season.”

Congratulations to ICTS Security Agent, Elizabeth Mills (in photo above) who suggested issuing stickers to young passengers going through Security at South-ampton Airport.

Stickers were already being used at Bristol Airport and were well received, so it was decided to introduce them across all airports in the UK and Ireland.

The Marketing team came up with several designs and the following was selected as the winning design by a team at London HQ.

SUCCESSFUL AUDITS AT LONDON HEATHROW AIR-PORT

Giuseppe Bernasconi, know as Joe, (Service Delivery Manager) writes, “We started on 21 and 22 October 2019 with a full Delta Air Lines Corporate Security au-dit. All areas of the ICTS operation, including paper-work and training records were inspected. The result: fully compliant.

Not to feel left out, our Business Assurance Depart-ment performed an Internal Audit at London Heathrow Airport between 21 and 24 October. The audit covered ICTS Operations, Quality, Training, Busi-ness Continuity, Information Security, GDPR, Occupa-tional Health and Safety, Corporate Social Responsibly and Environmental Management. Overall we were deemed to be fully compliant, with just a few recom-mendations that we are already working on and deal-ing with.

Then it was the turn of United Airlines. Representa-tives from United’s Corporate Security visited us on 29 and 30 October to conduct a full station audit. As with Delta, all areas of the ICTS operation, including paper-work and training records, were fully compliant.

Also, on 29 October an Air Bridge Cargo Transport & Aviation Security Lead Expert came to London Heathrow to inspect training records for the dedicated agents working their flight, our SOPs and flight paper-work. He was very happy with everything he viewed and ICTS was deemed fully compliant.

To add to the mix Philippine Airlines were audited by CAAP MRAI Officials on 30 and 31 October. As part of the audit they inspected ICTS’ operation. No issues were raised and we were deemed fully compliant.

Thinking this was our lot we were very much mistaken; Vir-gin Atlantic Quality Assurance Group visited us 4 November for three days and conducted a full audit including the ICTS operation, training records, SOPs and flight paperwork. This also resulted in a fully compliant outcome. Many congratulations, team ICTS at London Heathrow Air-port!”

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF....

GEORGE WILLIAMS – SECURITY AGENT AT EDIN-BURGH AIRPORT.

When did you join ICTS? 1 February 2017. What are you mean re-sponsibilities within the (ICTS) team at Edinburgh airport? Area/baggage/passengers searching, aircraft guard-ing, passenger screening, aircraft patrolling , Cater-ing searching , Night and Day Security guard duties

at Louis Vuitton Edinburgh and any other security functions as required. How did you get into the Security profession? I served in the British Armed Forces and was medically discharged after sustaining injury in Afghanistan 2009. So my passion has always been in Security and I found it best to be at the airport where the likelihood of an attack is very high. I currently hold a SIA Close Protec-tion License . What aspects of your job do you enjoy most? I really enjoyed the aircraft searches and also the ca-tering search. What are the critical skills required for a job like yours? Communication skills. What advice would you offer a young professional contemplating a career in security? I will advise the young professional that it’s a great ca-reer to choose because you will have the opportunity to protect people and maintain safety. How do you manage your work/life balance? I make sure my life is in sync with my work duty sched-ules for the month. Many congratulations to George, who recently gradu-ated with an Honours Degree in Security Consultancy.

ICTS EUROPE LAUNCHES A NEW PRODUCT: PASS-BOARD

Since the introduction of the Advanced Passenger In-formation System (APIS) and Advanced Passenger Pro-filing (APP) programmes in the early 2000s, airlines have faced problems ensuring the data they transmit to national authorities is accurate. The problem inten-sifies with the growing number of passengers who check-in online. As the travel documents of those passengers are not scanned at the airport, airlines have to rely on the doc-ument information submitted online by the passenger. Such information is often inaccurate and can lead to fines being imposed on the airlines by national author-ities. A recent survey from IATA (2019) suggests that as much as 40% of APIS information submitted online by passengers is inaccurate. ICTS Europe’s PassBoard solves these data quality is-sues by allowing airlines to scan all travel documents at the departure gate during boarding. Passports are used instead of boarding passes to board passengers, and PassBoard updates check-in records simultaneous-ly, thereby creating a single source of API information which is always accurate and thus preventing huge fines and reducing personnel costs.

DISPAX WORLD 2019, LONDON ICTS UK & Ireland spon-sored DISPAX World 2019, the 3rd Interna-tional Conference on Unruly Airline Passenger Behaviour.

The conference, held in London on 18 and 19 September, offered an opportunity to hear what innovative pro-

grammes are being developed to prevent potentially unruly passengers from boarding aircraft and how to manage incidents inflight. As a security partner to air-lines at 10 airports in the UK and Ireland, this is a problem which is being faced by the ICTS teams, and hopefully one that we may be able to offer solutions to in the future.
