TRANSCRIPT
WORD OF GOD:
1Peter 2:21
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an
example, that you should follow in his steps.
Romans 8:29
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
1Corinthians 11:1
Follow my
example, as
I follow the
example of
Christ.
Proverbs 14:12 (NIV)
12 There is a way that
appears to be right,
but in the end it
leads to death.
1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
1Peter 2:10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
1Peter 2:11 Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high
priest who is unable to
sympathize with our
weaknesses, but we have one
who has been tempted in every
way, just as we are--yet was
without sin.
1.) The right way to live is
to live a life of pleasing and
glorifying to God like Jesus.
Matthew 3:17 And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."
John 17:4 I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.
2.) The right way to live is
to live a life of doing the will
of God like Jesus.
John 6:38
For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.
3.) The right way to live is
to live a life led by the
Spirit like Jesus.
Luke 4:1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert,
Romans 8:14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
Philippians 2:5-7 (NIV)
5 In your relationships with one
another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature[a] God, did
not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself
nothing by taking the very nature[b] of a servant, being made in human
likeness.
Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high
priest who is unable to
sympathize with our
weaknesses, but we have one
who has been tempted in every
way, just as we are--yet was
without sin.
CONCLUSION:
Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Hebrews 12:2 (ALT)
looking with undivided attention to the Originator
and Perfecter of [our] faith-Jesus-who, because of the
joy being set before Him,endured a cross,
having disregarded [the] shame, and has sat down at
[the] right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2 (AMP)
Looking away [from all that will
distract] to Jesus, Who is the
Leader and the Source of our
faith [giving the first incentive
for our belief] and is also its
Finisher [bringing it to maturity
and perfection]. He, for the joy
[of obtaining the prize] that was
set before Him, endured the
cross, despising and ignoring
the shame, and is now seated at
the right hand of the throne of
God.(1)
Hebrews 12:2 (GW)
We must focus on Jesus, the source
and goal of our faith. He saw the joy
ahead of him, so he endured death on
the cross and ignored the disgrace it
brought him. Then he received the
highest position in heaven, the one
next to the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2 (NLT)
We do this by keeping our
eyes on Jesus, on whom
our faith depends from
start to finish.[1] He was
willing to die a shameful
death on the cross
because of the joy he
knew would be his
afterward. Now he is
seated in the place of
highest honor beside
God's throne in heaven.
YOU NOW HAVE THE EXAMPLE IN AND
FOR LIVING,
JESUS CHRIST
IS YOUR EXAMPLE.
JESUS CHRIST
IS THE STANDARD AND
PATTERN FOR LIVING TO
THOSE WHO BELONG TO
GOD
