Weekend Attendance Increases Again!Weekend Attendance Increases Again!Weekend Attendance Increases Again!Weekend Attendance Increases Again! Each year, the Diocese requires every parish to count

the number of bodies in Church during the month of October and submit the weekly average; hence the

October Count! Our results trend positive for three

years:

2015 = 2712 attending2015 = 2712 attending2015 = 2712 attending2015 = 2712 attending 2016 = 3109 attending2016 = 3109 attending2016 = 3109 attending2016 = 3109 attending

2017 = 3286 attending2017 = 3286 attending2017 = 3286 attending2017 = 3286 attending

So thanks, and keep up the good work evangelizing

St. Mary of the Lakes to your friends and neighbors!

ICNU MomentsICNU MomentsICNU MomentsICNU Moments

Good disciples are always looking for ICNU (I see in you) moments, “I see in you” a need for Jesus! If you are having a conversation over the back fence, and your neighbor shares a grief or hardship, that’s an ICNU moment to say, “If I were facing that difBculty, I would Bnd strength in Jesus . . . and Bnd Him at St. Mary of the Lakes.” And see where that leads. It may go nowhere, but if it were to go somewhere . . . a nice follow up might be, “Why don’t you come to Mass with me next Sunday?”

If saying something similar would be pushing “your” envelope, then an easier approach might be to spread the word regarding three “Mass Mobs” that will be offered at St. Mary of the Lakes. You may remember the “Mass Mob” that was offered on Sunday, 9/11/16 at 6:00 p.m., the Bfteenth anniversary of that tragedy. A social media blitz on our website, Facebook, Twitter, yada yada yada provided many an opportunity to invite someone to Mass. The 6:00 p.m. Mass is usually a little over half full, but the Church was full for that Mass!

Three Mass Mob Masses will be offered on:Three Mass Mob Masses will be offered on:Three Mass Mob Masses will be offered on:Three Mass Mob Masses will be offered on:

Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. with the Adult Choir

Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. (Children’s Mass)

Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. with Redemption, our contemporary music group.

Before and after each Mass, confessions will be heard by Father Dan and Father Roy. Name tags will be provided

and congregants will be encouraged to introduce themselves to each other at the beginning of Mass. A ministry minute will be provided after announcements and hospitality will be offered in the Emmaus Center after Mass.

Although Mass attendance at St. Mary of the Lakes has been on the increase for the last three years, there is still roughly 75 percent of registered parishioners who do not attend Mass weekly, so the harvest is abundant for ICNU moments.

More information will follow regarding Mass Mobs, but in the meantime, be on the lookout for ICNU moments.
