Prayer of Pope Francis During the Coronavirus Pandemic
O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen

Second Sunday of Advent—December 6, 2020
During Advent, we, the church must be a prophet of God in our world. The mission of our church is to bring the Gospel to the hearts of all men and women and to make the Kingdom of God a reality in our world. John the Baptist is a model for the Christian community. Like him, we need to know that behind us comes one who can do more than we can. That we are only his spokespersons and heralds. The only mission of the Church is to evangelize. The only reason for her existence is to announce to people that salvation is coming, that it is already present in our world. How do we announce that the Messiah, the Savior, is already present in our world? What gestures or signs do we make to give hope to those who do not have it or have lost it? What words do we use?
