December Newsletter Governor Update Hello and I hope everyone is enjoying term 2 so far. The Governing Body have exciting news, there are two new Governors joining the team - Clive Melton and Molly Southwood. Clive is a former SEN teacher and Molly works for the University of Bath, both bring invaluable experience to the governing body and we look forward to their contribution to school life. Governors have also been hard at work this term monitoring the school development plan, learning more about the Aspirational Curriculum and, as ever, asking senior leaders tough questions. So, much like you we will enjoy the Christmas break! If you have any questions for Governors or would like to join the Governing Body please do get in touch. Best Wishes Josh Burr Co-Chair At Critchill School we have recently had a support visit from other Headteahers and Deputy Headteachers and also one from a Local Authority Evaluation Partner. On both occasions the school were praised, firstly, for a well-developed and highly personalised curriculum and also, secondly, for how much students achieve as a result of this. You will know how much your child achieves at Critchill School and it is good that their efforts are recognised outside of school as well. We have the Christmas season nearly upon us and I hope I will see you all at the annual Christmas celebration. If not, I hope you will enjoy the break and some time with family and friends. At Critchill School we have recently had a support visit from other Headteahers and Deputy Headteachers and also one from a Local Authority Evaluation Partner. The friends of Critchill spooky disco was held before we broke up for half term. It was well attended, and the young people all looked very scary in their costumes. Hot dogs and waffles were on sale and enjoyed by many. We held a raffle and the evening raised over £200.

Online Safety Advice Keeping up to date with what your children are doing online can seem daunting. Technology is constantly advancing and sometimes parents feel that their children know more about the internet than they do. Whatever their age, we can help you to find out more about what they might be doing online and give you some simple, practical and easy advice on the steps you can take as a parent to keep them as safe as possible.

How can I protect my children?

The following link offers help, support and advice to parents/carers on how to keep their child safe whilst using technology.
