The above students have met the following Criteria: 1. Must meet high academic standards in class. 2. Exhibit positive character and influence on class/school, dignity, respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, caring, and citizenship. 3. No unexcused lates of any kind for the month. No discipline referrals in the last month. Congratulations to all of you!
BASKETBALL The Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team won the Monroe Holiday Tournament by beating Brick Township at the buzzer with a 51-49 win on a Josh Daniels’ putback layup. Josh Daniels led the Falcons with 25 points. Michael Kides followed with 11 points and Andrew Turco added 7 points.

STEM ACADEMY More than 25 students in the class of 2020 and 2021 STEM Academy interested in pursuing careers in STEM-related fields along with 15 teachers participated in the
Fall STEM Portfolio Workshop on December 4th. The topics that were part of this unique event included networking, portfolio development and branding yourself for a STEM-based career. This event continued a multi-year effort of teacher-lead project-based activities and one-on-one mentorship to STEM students as they develop their personal digital portfolio. Special thanks goes out to the teachers that participated in this very special event, including Sharon DeMarco, Vanitha Gaurishanker, Eugene Giaquinto, Victoria Giblin, Nicole Gross, Nicolette Hommer, Larissa Miller, George Pangalos, Megan Price, Kelly Rick, Tim Riesz, Pete Ruckdeschel, Varsha Sharma, Richard Suhr, Mark Stranieri and Terri Weiss.
TED X The TEDx Club hosted their first annual TED talk. The topic of the TED Talk was "Change", and it included 14 students and adults who spoke on topics ranging from advances in medicine to self love.
The TEDx Club and Key Club hosted a Toy Drive where they
collected over 100 toys. Congratulations on a successful toy
drive!
FBLA Congratulations to the following teams from Monroe Township High School who advanced to
compete in the JA Titans Regional Round competition at Munich Re, Princeton, NJ on January 29,
2019.

REGIONAL COMPETITIVE EVENT CONFERENCE TO THE SLC
49 FBLA members placed in 24 events at the FBLA RCE (Regional Competitive Events) in December 2018. These students qualified to compete at the FBLA SLC (State Leadership Conference) in March 2019 in Atlantic City, NJ.
