Allura™ Fiber Cement Decking should be treated with a protective finish every few years, which will keep the surface attractive and protect from all the effects of elements and climate.
Water-based waterproofing sealers and cement finishes penetrate the cement, carrying silicone or wax additives that keep deck from absorbing water. Most sealers contain mildewcides and UV inhibitors for added protection. You will need to reapply a sealer every year or two to maintain UV protection.
Restore an older, weathered deck to its original color and luster with a deck-brightening product. Brighteners are available at most hardware stores and home centers.

L FINISHING
M MAINTENANCE OF DECKINGAll fiber cement, composite or, wood decking should be regularly and thoroughly cleaned.
All decks even low maintenance decks require regular cleaning to keep looking and performing well. Depending on the amount of dirt and leaves in your area you may need to clean the deck more frequently. Sweep your deck removing all loose dirt and leaves. Use a leaf blower or equal.
Rinse the deck off using a garden hose or pressure washer. When using a pressure washer be sure to raise the nozzle a few feet off the deck to prevent damaging the fiber cement.
If the decking´s current finish has faded or the fiber cement has algae or mildew growth, use a deck cleaner to remove the stubborn stains. Deck cleaner will remove general dirt and grime as well as grease spots left by grilling. If the deck is just dirty but not weathered, try using a diluted solution of ordinary dish soap, followed by a good scrubbing. Soap may be all the cleaning agent your deck really needs.
If a stain persists, repeat the process as necessary.
Inspect your deck at least once a year, more often if the weather over any given season is especially severe. Replace loose or rusting hardware or fasteners as soon as you detect them to prevent future problems.
Apply a new coat of sealant as necessary, according to the requirements of material used on your deck.
Carefully inspect the deck surface, railings and structure for signs of damage. Replace or reinforce damaged wood or metal as soon as possible. Replace damaged decking if it is split or otherwise compromised.
