Declan Max Brohan (Sunday, 05 June 2011 13:01)

Hello everybody connected to Wado Ryu Ireland.

I was privileged to train under the great Peter Suzuki in the 70's in Parnell Square, Dublin and Sensei Iwasaki.

I have fond memories of that era in Wado Ryu.

We had brilliant times fighting in the International British Championships in Birmingingham and especially in the European Championships in Amsterdam, Holland.1974.

Thanks to my Team members of the 1974 trip to Amsterdam, Michael Guilfoyle,Derek Desmond,Dan Donoghue,Peter Byrne and Liam Walsh. I'm standing between Sensi Iwasaki and

Kind Regards to all

I like the site - I was at one time a part of the Organization and it was good to see that the founding members (teachers) were recognized and it was good to see their photographs it brings back a lot of memories - my teacher was Michael Guilfoyle 2nd Dan and he was a excellent teacher and we would have occassional visits by My Y Iwasaki 4th Dan. I have great admiration for Mr Guilfoyle and because of his dedication to his class and teachings I can still remember my techniques and moves, punches, kicks, blocks etc - Many Thanks Michael hope all is well with you - the site is really good and is now part of my favorites and i will be checking regularly -
