In this manual, every use of OpenVMS AXP means the OpenVMS AXP operating
system, every use of OpenVMS VAX means the OpenVMS VAX operating system,
and every use of OpenVMS means both the OpenVMS AXP operating system and
the OpenVMS VAX operating system.

prompt indicates that you are using the NCP utility program. When you receive
this prompt, you can enter NCP commands.

For each command, you must supply a command verb and a component. Some
com m a n d s a lso re qu ire on e or m o re p a ra m e t e rs. Co m m a n d q u a lifi e rs a re
optional. Unless otherwise indicated, you can specify parameters in any order.
1.2 Entering Commands
E n t e r N CP com m a n d s a s verb s, com p on e n t s, p a ra m e t e rs, a n d qu a lifi e rs se pa ra t e d
by spaces or t abs. To continue a long comma nd to th e next line, use the sta nda rd
continua tion line convention (a hyphen a s th e last chara cter in the line). The
N C P > prompt is not display ed on continua tion lines; instead, continuat ion lines
prompt with an underscore character. For example:

Line Components
LINE line-idIdentifies the specific line whose parameters are to be reset to their default values
(if any) or removed from the database.
KNOWN LINESResets the parameters to the default value (if any) or removes them for all known
lin e s f rom t h e d a t a b a se .
Command Parameters
ALLRemoves the specified line or all known lines from the database. The line must
be in the OFF state before you specify this parameter.
