productiely- students must know certain amount of ocabularies- not only for communicating

orally- but also written. It is in line with the concept of communicatie approach in which

learners hae a big chance to use the language directly in classroom actiities. 2his approach is

useful in improing students0 ocabularies. 2hrough the approach students are forced to use the

language directly in either spoken or written communication.

2he :uestions relate with ocabularies ac:uisition are what kinds of words one needs to

know and how many words he must know. 2he ocabularies that should a student know first are

the high fre:uency words. 2hese are words that he uses most often in communication either in

classroom actiities or outside classroom. 2he high fre:uency words are called the general

serice ocabulary. ;e+t- he also should know the academic or sub technical words which are

not in general serice ocabulary but occur fre:uently oer a range of academic te+ts.
