TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
Report of REGENERATION AND LOCAL SERVICES

Purpose of the Report
To consider a request for temporary traffic regulation by Order on Sunday 4 November 2018 for the purpose of preventing obstruction during the proposed Chester-le-Street Fireworks Display at Riverside Park.
Background
A fireworks display is proposed to be undertaken at the southern end of Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street, with controlled pedestrian access and vehicles during egress.
Details of any alternative options considered and rejected when making the decision
Other traffic management arrangements have been considered and the most appropriate method is for temporary closure or roads / road junctions, footbridge and public footpaths
Recommendations and reasons
It is recommended that the Council exercises its powers under the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 to effect a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order to facilitate the proposed event
Decision
The recommendation is approved and that following, consultations with the Chief of Police, arrangements be made to progress the sealing of an Order.
