DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL NADERGUL
SOCIETY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2019
Ring out the old, Ring in the new
Ring happy bells across the snow
The year is going, let him go
Ring out the false, Ring in the truth
Ring in the love of truth and right
Ring in the common love of good.
Zuzu will be ten years old. I have spent three good years at the Nadergul campus and what a
three-year journey it has been! Fun, laughter, joy and wonderful learning have been my accompaniments these
years. On behalf of my school, I wish that the new year of 2019 ushers all that is good, all that is happy, all that
is healthy in to all our lives.
Value of the month: GRATITUDE
Keeping in the tradition of a value per month, Zuzu and his friends picked up the value of GRATITUDE for
the month of January 2019.
“For all I am,
And all I have
I am thankful everyday
For I know that
All my hopes and dreams
Are right on their way.”
Zuzu is lucky and blessed to be a part of such an institution where values are honored every day. I
remember my teachers telling me that I should write my diary every night. Now when I sleep for the night my
daily diary witnesses a list of people whom I am thankful for and express my gratitude to all of them. What a
noble way to begin and end a day.
4th January 2019 – Rainbow Colour Day
The philosophical tone that started in the new year, continued throughout the
month of January in all the activities that I participated in. Seven is a magical number of God. The Seven colors
of the Rainbow merging into the white light is an ultimate expression of God’s beauty.
My Pre – Primary friends taking their initial steps understood these seven magical colours as they
brightened the rainbow in every class. They had learnt each colour every month of the year. The culmination
was seen this month with the rainbows magically appearing on the walls of all Pre – Primary classrooms.
11th January 2019 – Annual day Celebrations
The value of Gratitude set the tone for the Mega Annual Event of the year,
the school Annual Day – “BHAARATH ANE NENU”. The theme the story of Bhaarath stood as a token of
gratitude from the school to all those freedom fighters, revolutionaries, educationists, who had shaped my
country of Bhaarath.
“The Story of Bhaarath” – was a spectacular production
celebrating India’s freedom, rich heritage and diverse cultures through a
musical journey. The school was decked up for the occasion. Smt
Sabitha Indra Reddy, MLA Maheshwaram Constituency, Shri. A Raja
Babu, Program Director AD and Shri Mir Mohtessham, Muscle Mania
Champion are the Chief guests of the day. The celebration
commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by prayer
song. The event began with our loving Principal, Ms. Padma Jyothi Turaga
presenting the Annual Report highlighting the school’s progress in all areas.
The report was an example of the stupendous success the school has
achieved in the last 3 years. The tone of Gratitude was seen when mam
thanked the management, the parents and the teachers for the support
rendered to the school at all times.
On this occasion, Mr Kommariah, Chairman,
Mr.Pranay Treasurer, Ms Sunitha, Principal DPS Nacharam
were also present. The Principal and chief guests presented
trophies and certificates to academic toppers and applauded them for
excellence. The school’s production, through its theatrical
enactment with 1700 students flavoured with music and dance
celebrated India’s freedom, heritage, diversity and success
stories. Each grade contributed to the much awaited spectacle,
be it the vibrant colours of Pre Primary kids depicting the
Telangana state symbols, the characters of freedom fighters,
the rich heritage prevailed in the kingdoms, music and dance of different states. The Zealous audience gathered in
large numbers, constantly applauded the participants. The most intriguing aspect embellishing the event was the Grand
Finale – a splendid performance of classical fusion and western dance. The fusion of dance styles and music captured
the hearts of all the parents and the guests. Ms Sabitha Indra Reddy appreciated the students for their hard work
and wished them good luck for their future.

12th January 2019 – Pongal Celebrations
How true are these famous lines –
“When winter comes can spring be far behind?”
The four seasons magically are connected to the various facets of human life. The season of spring heralds
colour, youth, vitality and energy. The festival of Sankranthi celebrated in the telugu states is a festival of
celebrating newness in all that we reap. This festival of harvest was celebrated in our school with tradition
pomp in its true spirit when the village atmosphere was brought to life.
24th January 2019 – Medals & Badges Issued
The concept of positive reinforcement as propounded by Skinner has worked miracles with us children.
In school, the concept of one value per month since September has brought in a sense of discipline and has
brought in changes of behavior recorded at home too. It is happy to note parents giving positive feedback of
behavior at home. The school acknowledged all our friends with Honesty Champion Badges and Kindness
Super Stars. These badges brought a sense of much more commitment on our part to stand true to the badges
given at all times. Our parents were elated and these moments captured in the reviews that they have sent to our
teachers.
26th January 2019 - Republic Day Celebrations
Bhaarat Maata Teri Gaatha,
Sabase Unchi Teri Shaan,
Tere Aage Sheesh Jhukae,
De Tujhako Hum Sab Sammaan!!
The school continued its tryst with history this month as we celebrated the 70th Republic Day in our school. As is the
practice, the school conducted its third Heritage Walk from Charminar too Faluknama with a gathering of more than
2000 children taking the historic march.
The chief guest on the occasion Deputy Mayor - Mohd. Baba Fasiuddin, Charminar MLA - Mumtaz Ahmed Khan
and IAS Mr. B. Venkatesham, Mr. Sohail Khadri – Corporator, Mr. M. Komaraiah – Chairman, spoke about the rich
cultural diversity of Hyderabad and congratulated all the children for the walk.
The 70mts Indian Flag stood testimony to the celebrations as it was carried on the tender shoulders
throughout the 5km walk. What a country is ours where Colour, Energy, Enthusiasm and Spirit of patriotism is
richly seen.
EXAM time
The month also saw us busy with preparations for our exams. Our teachers and parents became close buddies
sharing the information about revision and exams. My school supports us always in all areas of academics and
sports.
Our teachers announced remedial academic support classes every day in the evening in order to help my
friends. A revision test daily in the morning put us on our toes as we revised simple concepts on daily basis.
Math was still made easy with 5 Questions a day reaching us every evening. These revision tests will definitely
help Zuzu and his friends to face the exams confidently.
IRP Projects:
My school has given us scope for innovation and creativity at all times. It is never
a dull moment for us in school. The IRP projects given to us in the second term
made all of us don our research hats. We made PPTs , some us made nests and
some of us researched on the International Space station to gather all information
we could. Many of my primary friends presented well. If you are free why don’t
you listen to one of my friends present the same?

January 30, 2019 - Martyr’s Day
The tone of Gratitude gave a bidding finale to the Father of the Nation on 30 January 2019. The entire
school honoured the sacrifice of Mahatma Gandhi on Jan 30. While we all stood in a 2 min reverence the song
of “ Vaishanava Janato…” a favorite hymn echoed in the school campus. A solemn day to mark the end of an
eventful month at our school!
Those are my memoirs for this month. See you all in February with more interesting travails from me.
