EUPHORIA 2018 at Delhi Public School, Hyderabad E - Magazine 1 DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, HYDERABAD EUPHORIA – An Inter School Sports Fest 2018 Endurance is one of the most difficult disciplines, but it is to the one who endures that the final victory comes. ~ Buddha Delhi Public School, Hyderabad organised a three-day sports extravaganza which came to an end on 8 th September, 2018. Kidambi Nandagopal, International Badminton player had kindly consented to be the chief guest for the evening. The students of 28 different CBSE schools participated in six different disciplines stretching over three days. Ms. Geetha Vishwanathan, Principal DPS Hyderabad, graced the occasion. She spent time in all the three venues encouraging the playing teams. The participation was overwhelming with 12 cricket teams, 16 football teams, 16 girls’ and 16 boys’ basketball teams. In individual events, 17 boys and 16 girls battled it out at the tennis court in two categories – under -class 7 and under -class 9, 19 players from 11 schools participated in chess to check-mate the opponent and 80 athletes from 15 schools raced against each other in the track events for a podium finish. In total there were 835 participants in DPS Hyderabad campus. The school premises adorned a festive look to welcome the participating schools. A contingent of volunteers not only helped and guided the visitors but also maintained the score board, made announcements and wrote certificates. The energetic and enthusiastic Dipsites watched the matches being conducted at the different venues and cheered the players. The participants were at their best exhibiting the spirit of competition and enthusiasm. The students of DPS Hyderbad stole the show by winning the finals of the Basketball - boys and girls category, Team Chirec International School bagged the Runners-up in the same. DPS Hyderabad won the cricket trophy by beating Glendale Academy. Football trophy was bagged by Glendale Academy by beating DPS Hyderabad. Tennis boys trophy was won by Glendale Academy by DPS Hyderabad beating in under class-9 category, Chirec International won against Dps Hyderabad in under class-7 category. Tennis girls trophy won by Oakridge International by beating DPS Hyderabad in under class-9 category, Meridian Banjara won by beating DPS Secunderabad in under class -7 category. DPS Hyderabad won the chess tournament by beating DPS Secunderabad.

DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, HYDERABAD

EUPHORIA – An Inter School Sports Fest 2018

Delhi Public School, Hyderabad organised a three-day sports extravaganza which came to an end

on 8th September, 2018. Kidambi Nandagopal, International Badminton player had kindly

The students of 28 different CBSE schools participated in six different disciplines stretching over

three days. Ms. Geetha Vishwanathan, Principal DPS Hyderabad, graced the occasion. She spent

In athletics, DPS Hyderabad stole the show by bagging more number of medals.

Officials were invited from different sports association to conduct all the events. The Most

Valuable players were judged by the officials based on the overall performance in their

respective disciplines. Rohan Akineni & Ishika Varma both from DPS Hyderabad in Basketball;

Vidit Ahuja in Cricket & Sahil Sahu in Football both from Glendale Academy; Abhay Varma of

Dps Nacharam & Trisha Sharma of DPS Hyderabad in Athletics.

The Championship trophy went to DPs Hyderabad with a huge lead.

This fest has taught the participants how to work in harmony with other people, exert themselves

whenever necessary, accept defeats with equal ease and work as a consolidated unit. The

participants not only share their learning experiences but also enhance their communication and

interpersonal skills. As a result, such inter-school sports competitions help them to develop

essential skills. In the long run the active and continued participation in sports and athletics

would pay a rich dividend in terms of fitness, well-being and happiness.
