Azure Standard specializes in natural, organic, earth-friendly foods and products. We deliver directly to customers, buying clubs and retailers by semi-truck and UPS. As of October 2013, Azure is delivering to 35 states including Hawaii and Alaska. If you would like to learn more about the history of Azure, please read the letter written by David Stelzer, Azure Standard CEO, on our website under the About Us tab.

Mission Statement Azure Standard’s mission is to help people throughout the country realize their greatest potential in abundant living by providing the products, information and services they need to make healthy and empowered choices.

Long Term Vision At Azure Standard, we strive to inspire healthy and abundant living, endeavoring to expand our distribution range across the entire country. At the same time, we maintain our commitment to top-notch quality, service, and educational tools, second to none. We envision a nation-wide network of customers and like-minded people, focused on sharing healthy living recipes, nutritional therapy, herbal medicine, positive mindset, and any other health-giving practices.

Our long term vision is one we will be developing step-by-step over the next 10-20 years, all the while continuing to work on perfecting the live, organic, agricultural practices we adhere to at Azure Farm. We will share this information with many of our supplying growers so their products can become certified under Azure Organics which will offer a wide range of “better than organic” items - providing superior nutrition from soil to table. We envision a transparent window between growers, processors and consumers, fostering strong and resilient relationships based on trust and mutual appreciation.

We intend our farms and processing facilities to become role models for both consumers and producers, to inspire growers to meet exacting standards and consumers to accept nothing less. The facilities will be used as a training ground for young entrepreneurs who want to learn to become our suppliers, and go through our comprehensive training programs. For consumers, we will be offering classes in healthy food preparation, gardening and all other aspects of sustainable and abundant living. Once they have completed a defined curriculum of courses, they will be eligible for a healthcare program with Azure’s network of health professionals who will further educate and help with preexisting conditions.

We at Azure Standard aim to inspire our entire team and alliances to thrive in abundant living. Welcome to our vision and stay tuned in for each new development!

Azure and You– It’s Simple!

Families, a group of neighbors, friends, a buying club, a retail outlet, or even just an individual can order and receive Azure products. All you have to do is:

1) Become a customer—takes less than 3 minutes and it’s FREE!

Sign up online at www.azurestandard.com, or call Azure Customer Service at (971) 200-8350 (Retail outlets must call)

2) Join a local drop point or develop one (if applicable).

The Basics:

Drop points (“drops”) are established locations on delivery routes where products are delivered. Each one is identified with a unique number. Some drops are “open” - willing to accept new members, and some are “closed” - not open to new members.

Drops can be located at someone’s house, in a church or another like-type of gathering point, or they can be in a vacant parking lot that is convenient for the members. Some drops have storage facilities to keep items out of the weather elements, as well as refrigerators or freezers. In many cases, however, no facilities are available, and customers must meet truck and driver on time to pick up deliveries. The drop coordinator is the one responsible for ensuring drop point locations are available and as convenient as possible for the members.

If you don’t already have a drop point in mind, call Azure Customer Service to get set up with one near you. Let the representative know you are- or would like to become, a new customer. Also, be sure to indicate if you are simply looking for a drop, or if you want to establish a new one! To complete an order with Azure, you will need the number of the drop where you will receive products.

After we get you signed up with a drop, it is a good idea for you to make contact with the drop coordi-nator (you will be given the contact info) to touch base on the specifics and logistics of the drop.

If there is no route with drops established in your area, we would love to help you bring a route to your community! In the event we are not yet ready to develop a route in your area, we will keep your contact information for future reference as we consider new routes. In that case, you can order most products and have them delivered via UPS (just not perishables, frozen or chilled items).

If you live, work, or regularly travel through the Moro or Dufur areas in Oregon, you can also choose to “will call” your order, and pick up from either of those actual locations.

If you already have a drop number (i.e. your friends invited you to join theirs), you can simply become a customer online. If you want to establish a new drop point, please give us a call!

Once you’ve signed up and joined a drop, you are an official customer!

I’m a New Customer, Now What?

Go Shopping!

For product information & ordering, you have a few options:

Shop directly online (fastest and easiest) Request a FREE catalog via the Azure website www.azurestandard.com Email us—questions only– at [email protected] (no orders accepted via email ), OR Simply give us a call! Our Customer Service Team is very knowledgeable, and eager to help out

with questions and orders.

Be sure to also download or ask for a quarterly sales flyer– over a 100 pages of discounted items!

Products may be purchased in small or large quantities, convenient for individuals AND large families. As an individual, you might enjoy sharing bulk items with others in the group so you can take advantage of extra bulk savings!

If you are ordering online:

Remember to check out our produce selection listed under the Specials tabs, as well as our New Products, Featured Items, and don’t miss the super deals in the Bargain Bin. Please make note that frozen and refrigerated items are not shippable via UPS. Also, we do our best to ship quality pro-duce to Alaska and Hawaii, but due to unknown conditions at the barge lines, we cannot guarantee the quality on arrival. Finally, consider the length of time your produce will be riding on the truck when ordering particularly perishable items (tomatoes, for example).

For all items other than produce, live inventory levels are shown for each product. If the number reads zero, we are out of stock temporarily or for the season. Out of stock produce items will not show on the website.

After your cart is full of Azure treasures, simply click “check out.”

At the delivery screen, choose Will Call, UPS, or Truck Route. You’ll want to pick “truck route” if you have joined a drop point, and you must enter the drop point number to complete the transaction.

At the payment screen, choose to pay by credit/debit card or COD. Some drop points choose not to allow COD’s, so be sure to check on that first with your local coordinator. If you have established terms, they will appear as an option as well.

At the summary page, review all the information and CLICK SUBMIT at the bottom of the page. You will know you have successfully completed your order with Azure Standard when you receive an email confirmation of the order. If you do not have email, make note of the order # on the screen.

Your credit card will be charged the day your order is actually loaded on the truck. If you are in an area with a fuel surcharge, you will also have an 8.5% shipping charge added to your invoice once the truck is loaded. You can approximate your grand total by multiplying your total product amount in your cart by 1.085. Currently, these are the states that have a fuel/delivery charge because of the long distance, fig-ured as a percentage of your order: AL, AR, CO, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT– east of Missoula, NC, ND, NE, NM-east, OH, OK, SD, TN, TX, UT, WI, WY.

If Azure does not ship all of the items in your cart for whatever reason, your grand total will be less. If you ordered “variable weight items,” the actual items picked & packed will be weighed and you will be charged according to the actual weight. To find out the exact charges for your order, simply log into your account after your order ships. You will see the total charged, as well as the items that were shipped. We also send you a packing list email of your order, once it is loaded on the truck.

See the Customer Handbook– in print or online– for all the finer details and tips about being part of the Azure community!

Products Definitions

“Transitional” produce or items are in the process of becoming certified organic. They must carry the transitional certificate for 3 years– verifying organic practices during that time, before they can be issued the organic certification.

“Organic” products have completed the guidelines and requirements necessary to obtain (and retain) an organic certification.

Azure carries roughly 9,000 items from toothpaste to garden supplies to produce. BUT, you might have a favorite thing that we just don’t know about yet. LET US KNOW! You can make your sugges-tion on the website via the “Suggest a Product” link, or give us a call. Be sure to provide as much information about the product as possible, including why you like it so much, and supplier contact information. If you have questions about any Azure product, don’t hesitate to contact our customer service department.

Each new product presented to Azure goes through a thorough review by a minimum of 10 people on a panel, and includes taste testing, product trial, and ingredient verification. Products NOT endorsed or knowingly sold by Azure include: Artificial preservatives, fluoride, GMO’s, pork products, shellfish products, coffee, alcoholic products, tobacco, refined sugars, artificial sweeteners and colors, bleached flours, monosodium glutamate (MSG), and nitrates/nitrites. If you notice any of these ingredients in any of our products, please let us know.

Products are offered in both individual and bulk sizes– suitable for the single person, or the large family. Purchasing in the bulk sizes let’s you take advantage of the extra bulk savings!

Ordering & Delivery Azure typically delivers just once every 4 weeks to a drop point, but some routes are able to receive

product more often than that. UPS delivery is available for some products, but only encouraged when the need for a product is urgent.

For a truck to stop at a particular location, that “drop” must have a total order of at least $550.00. If your drop is what we refer to as “off route” (more than 3 miles off our existing route), there will be a different minimum amount required based upon the distance the driver is traveling. Typically, we require an additional $85.00 worth of product purchased for each mile driven off route. For example, if a drop is 20 miles off route, it would have a minimum drop requirement of $2,250.00.

If a drop does not reach its minimum, customer orders will not be voided– they will be shipped the following month, or the next time the drop reaches its minimum.

Each individual customer’s order minimum is $50. If the order is less than that, a $5 handling fee is charged for orders delivered by standard truck route. If you choose to have your order delivered by UPS or USPS, the handling fee will be a maximum of $2.50.

For orders shipped by common carrier, UPS, or barge, all shipping costs will be added to your order. Frozen and refrigerated items may not be available using these shipping methods. Please feel free to call for further details.

We do our best to ship quality produce to Alaska and Hawaii, but due to unpredictable conditions at barge lines, we will not guarantee the quality on arrival.

You can place your order online, over the phone, by fax, or snail mail if you want! For all orders, except those placed through the website, use the order form in the back of the product catalog. Be sure to consult and pay attention to the schedule of route deliveries and cutoff dates at the back of the product catalog, or at www.azurestandard.com/drops/schedule for details on deliveries to your specific location.

Phone Orders: Have your customer number, product numbers and quantities ready when you call. Phone order cutoff is 4 p.m. PST, 3 p.m. on Fridays.

Fax Orders: Fill out order form completely, including name, customer number, phone number, address, and location/name of contact where order will be delivered. Write legibly in a dark pen color. Fax order cutoff is 12:00 p.m. PST on your route’s cutoff day. We encourage you to call to confirm that your faxed order was received.

Mail Orders: Use dark pen, write legibly, and fill out order form completely, including name, customer number, phone number, address, and location/name of contact where order will be delivered. Please allow 5-6 working days before your cutoff date (consider mail holidays!) for your order by mail to reach us and be processed.

If you have access to internet, online ordering is the fastest & easiest way to order. You can see all the products available to you, as well as their inventory levels! See “Making the Most of your Azure Website” on page 4 for details on managing your order online.

If it has been a while since you ordered from us and you don’t remember your customer number, give us a call! We consider you a customer for life unless we hear otherwise. Therefore, your customer number will never change and follows you wherever you go. If you happen to forget or lose it, we are happy to remind you of it! If you move, we are also happy to put you in contact with a drop coordinator in your new city or town.

On the website, we provide live inventory numbers alongside our products. The stock available number is the amount that is in the warehouse at that very moment, and not already ordered by another customer. HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE that inventory is NOT DIRECTLY ALLOCATED until it is picked and packed for shipping. That means: The earlier you order, the less accurately the inventory numbers will reflect availability when product is actually picked and packed. For example, if someone orders after you do, but their delivery date is before yours, product will be allocated to their order first. For most products, that is not a problem as we keep ample stock. The inventory numbers we post on the website are intended to give a good idea of availability, but are not a written or implied guarantee that the product will be in stock at the time of shipping.

If more of a specific product is on order from the supplier, there will be an "on purchase" number with an estimated date of arrival below the "stock available" number. The estimated arrival date is purely an estimate. If a shipment is late, the date will show as in the past. When the new shipment arrives, the “on purchase” date will disappear, and the received quantities will be added to the “stock available.”

It is best to order your produce as close to your cutoff date as possible, to help guarantee that you will get what you want and order. Produce turnover and availability changes daily– especially in peak season. Therefore, in stock numbers are not shown for produce. The best way to know if produce is in stock is to check the website items www.azurestandard.com/shop/category/QP. Only in stock produce is visible on the website. If you are ordering produce on your cutoff day, to the best of our knowledge, the item will be available for your order; Azure strives to keep produce in stock and available, and to minimize any inconvenience of out-of-stock items.

Remember to add item CT005 to your order so that you can receive the free sales flyer with your order. We also strongly encourage you to purchase a subscription so that you receive the sales flyers,

catalogs and other publications by mail—add item number CT014 to your order. Please note that we do not use a backorder system. If you ordered but did not receive an item

because it was out of stock, you will need to order it again with your next order, or when it is next available.

Currently we do not deliver during the Christmas week to honor those who celebrate. Changes to the delivery schedule surrounding that time period are posted well in advance and in our winter catalog.

Please note that we deliver in a four-week cycle so orders are not always delivered on a regular day- “first Monday of the month,” as an example. The approximate delivery days (listed in our Schedule of Deliveries) are subject to change at any time due to order volume, road conditions, etc.

Pricing & Payments We strive to offer you, our customers, the best possible prices by operating on a cost-plus basis and

passing on to you any savings when costs go down. That said, our prices are subject to change without notice, so prices in the printed catalog may not remain accurate during its efficacy period. We do our best to keep the website prices up to date, but price changes may occur between the time you order, and the time your order is picked and packed (especially if you order far in advance of your cutoff date). Please feel free to give us a call at any time for current pricing.

While we do our absolute best to carefully proof all of our material, mistakes can happen, and we will not be obligated by typographical errors or mis-printed prices.

We accept cash, checks, money orders, and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover). We do not accept food stamps or coupons. Checks returned for insufficient funds are subject to an additional $20 service charge. All items must be paid for when delivered, unless you have approved credit terms with us.

All credit accounts are net 10 days. Service will be discontinued if any invoices are over 30 days past due. A billing service charge of $5.00 per month may be added to accounts due past 30 days.

Returns We will gladly give you full credit for any missing or damaged goods in your order. You must report

items you wish to return within three (3) working days of your order delivery; insect contamination can be reported within seven (7) days). Call or email us with your name, invoice number, the product you want to return, and the nature of the problem.

Any item being returned for a reason other than being damaged or mis-shipped, is subject to a 10% restocking fee which will be deducted from the credit given for said product.

To return any item, you need to call Customer Service and request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number for the item.

All return items must have a RMA and be in original packaging- carefully packaged to ensure safe return.

All damaged products must be returned to Azure in order for you to receive credit to your account. Unless otherwise authorized, please do not deduct the price of items you intend to return from a current invoice.

Drop Point & Product Delivery Your drop coordinator is an individual—or rotating group of individuals, who volunteers as the

contact person for a specific drop location. He or she is not an employee of Azure, is not getting paid to help coordinate the drop, but kindly acts as the local “go to” person for the drop group. Any logistics’ questions you have about getting your products can be directed to that person. Of course you are always welcome to call us, but the local coordinator often has a better idea of the up-to-date logistics for your drop.

Your drop point coordinator is responsible for the following: Maintaining drop location Keeping drop group members informed and organized Establishing & maintaining the relationship with delivery driver “Receiving” products

Shortly before each order cutoff date, you will receive an order reminder email from Azure (if you have email), and you will likely receive a reminder from your drop coordinator– especially if your drop has not yet reached the minimum order level.

Delivery Day If meeting your driver, be on time to pick up your order. Delivery drivers are on very tight schedules,

and they typically schedule each drop to last only 15-30 minutes. If drop location will be holding or storing your items temporarily, be respectful of the host’s time and space.

Have your payment ready, if you haven’t already paid by credit/debit card. Verify that you received everything on your packing list, and that all items are suitable (driver will not

wait while you do this). If you receive a wrong item or an item you did not order but would like to keep, Azure

Customer Service can check to see if they can offer you the item at a discounted rate. Keep in mind that not all items can or will be discounted. If you do not want to keep the item, follow the procedure for returning items (see above).

If you were charged for an item you did not receive, contact Azure Standard Customer Service. If you are not available to pick up your order, be sure to coordinate with someone else to pick it up

for you! It is likely that your drop will have an established procedure for unclaimed orders, but that might simply be for the order to be returned. In that case, you may be charged (at minimum) a 10% re-stocking fee.

Last but not least, have FUN! Take the opportunity to talk with your neighbors and fellow Azure customers– you might just have a lot in common!

Making The MOST of Your Azure Website If you haven’t seen it yet, the Azure Standard website is packed with products, information, and helpful tidbits. We won’t detail every aspect of it here– we want you to have some fun exploring. However, we do want to call your attention to some of the main points of interest:

Home: This page gives you a glimpse of the latest information in the broad spectrum of the entire website– get a sneak peek into featured items, specials, new products and articles, announcements, and more. Simply click on anything there to find out more.

Search: The Search option can be found on any page of the Azure website. It is akin to the standard searching you do throughout the web. The more exact the information is that you type in, the more accurate the items returned will be (i.e. fewer results, but likely what you are looking for). The more general your search is, the more results that will be returned- but maybe not be exactly what you are wanting. For example, say you want a bag of sesame seed. If you just type in "sesame," the search will return products from crackers with sesame in them to sesame oil, etc. If you type in “sesame bulk,” just the various sizes of bulk sesame products will be returned. One other bonus of the new search, it is more forgiving of misspellings!

Shop: Here you can choose to browse by Category, Brand Name, Item Code, or you Browse All. Be sure to log in first so you can see product pricing.

Catalogs & Publications: If you need an extra catalog or sales’ flyer, you can get one here (or email a

Page 12: Delivering quality bulk & natural food at ... - Azure Standard · Azure Standard specializes in natural, organic, earth-friendly foods and products. We deliver directly to ... which

link to a friend)! Either download a PDF (keep in mind, it is a large file), or request that we send you one.

Ordering Info: Most of the information under this tab is included in this handbook (Getting Started, Web Tips, Policies)! BUT, you will enjoy the quick and easy access to the schedule of deliveries located here, as well as the customer service contact information and comment submission option. We always want to hear your feedback!

About Us: This is the spot for all the extra info you will enjoy. Look for the history of Azure, as well as what we’re up to today! There are articles of interest, company and employment announcements, links to all of our vendors’ websites, videos, and much more coming. Keep your eye tuned to the About Us tab– that’s where we’ll be telling and showing you what’s moving and shaking in and around Azure. AND, be sure to notice the Suggest a Product link there too.

Favorites: This is a very handy and time-saving tool if you use it! It allows you to store favorite items and sort by item code, price, name or brand. Each time you browse and order products, mark as favorites all the ones you know you’ll be buying again and again. They will be saved here! When you want to fill your shopping cart, first go through your list of favorites, and click the little box next to each item you want, then choose “Add checked items to cart.” NOTE: The little box at the top of the columns, to the right of “Quantity” is if you want to check ALL of your favorites to put into your cart. If you check that box, but don’t want all of the items, you will have to go back through and uncheck items you don’t want. Finally, we know that some things might not stay your favorite for ever– simply click the trash can next to any item that has fallen out of favor, and it will leave your favorites list. Forget what’s in that favorite thing of yours? Just click on the name of the item, and you’ll go to the product page which lists the ingredients, country of origin, and all the particulars about it.

My Account: This is the place to keep all of your contact and drop information current and accurate– physical and email addresses, phone numbers, etc. Plus, you can view and print past or pending order invoices. One new feature you will see (not relevant for Will Call customers) is an “Opt Out” box which relates to the email order reminders/”Snippets” that we send you in advance of every order. You can change your status to receive or not receive those emails as you see fit.

Cart: This is the biggie. Your cart is quite versatile, and the more you learn to use it, the faster you will get at ordering exactly what you want.

Shop Quickly- If you know your product numbers, you can swiftly fill your shopping cart with multiple product numbers at a time in succession. In the “code” field of your Cart, type in a product number, hit Enter, and you’re ready to type in the next product number. If you need to change the quantity, simply tab once to the “qty” field, change the number and hit Enter. Then, go again. You can be finished with a large, complex order in a matter of minutes!

Find What You Need– Use the blue links for searching by category, brand, item or specials. If you change your mind about ordering an item, simply click the trash can. If you want to make

the item a favorite, click the gold star. Be sure to review and update the quantities of all the items you put in your cart.

Extra Notes Don’t worry about losing the contents of your cart due to power failure, loss of internet connection, or

even navigating away from the Azure website. Your cart is automatically updated and saved as you move along through your order; come back to it at any time to finish filling and complete your order.

Even after you have completed your order, you can make changes to it right up to your cutoff time. Just click “resume” under “My Account.” Be sure to check out again to complete the order, or choose the “auto check out” option and you will automatically be checked out at cutoff time!
