DeltaMusicInstitutebeganwithagenerousdonationbyFredCarloftheVikingRangeCorporationin2003.TheDMIoffersaconcentrationofmusicandentertainmentindustrycoursesleadingtoaBachelorofScienceinInterdisciplinaryStudiesdegreeoraBachelorofArtsinMusicdegreewithanemphasisinMusicProduction.Whetherproducingtheirownartortheartofothers,ouralumniwillbewellpreparedforthetechnical,business,andlegalissuesthatconfrontthepracticingartisttodayandinthefuture.

TheWhitfieldBuildingoncampusnowhousestwoworldclassrecordingfacilitiesonthesameparasthefamedAbbeyRoadstudiosinLondon.StudioA,thelargerofthetworecordingspaces,featuresaNeveV3largeformatconsoleandhasthespacetorecordanorchestra,windensemble,orchoirofupto150musicians.StudioBfeaturesaDigiICONconsoleandisamorecontemporaryspace,abletorecordsmallerensemblesofvariousstylesandgenres,whileStudioCisasmallprojectstudio.TheDMIalsohousesastateoftheart,15stationdigitalaudiocomputerlab,featuringApplecomputerswithkeyboardsandaudiointerfaces,wherestudentswilllearntocreate,edit,andmixaudiointhedigitalrealm.
