Business Items Discussed:

Soror Michele Bell-Badger opened the meeting with prayer.

Soror Bell-Badger and Soror Ingrid Bethel noted that Soror Myrtle Turner was recognized at the January 7th

Chapter meeting as the namesake honoree of the Miss Dedication Award that will be presented during the Miss Delta Teen Pageant to the contestant who raises the most money by February 25th. Soror Turner was presented with a personalized commemorative t-shirt during the recognition announcement.

The Delta Teen contestants are organizing a clothing drive for their public service project, and they have recorded a video on which they request support from the Chapter. They are collecting new and gently used clothing for needy boys and girls between the ages of 10-17. Sorors are asked to bring donated clothing items to the March 4th Chapter meeting.

The group photo of Sorors who purchased 40th Miss Delta Teen Pageant commemorative t-shirts will be taken on Saturday, March 4th immediately following Chapter meeting. Sorors are asked to wear black pants or skirt, and bring their t-shirts to put on before the photo is taken. Further details will be sent via email.

All commemorative t-shirts that have yet to be distributed will be brought to the March 4th Chapter meeting. Sorors should visit the pageant table to pick up their shirts or contact Soror Bethel at [email protected] to make other arrangements beforehand.

The Awards and Prizes Sub-Committee is continuing to procure prizes for contestants. Prize donations will be accepted through Thursday, March 9th.

Soror Jamila Pope will lead the Sponsor and VIP Services Sub-Committee efforts on the evening of the pageant. Sorors on the Floor Level Support and Hospitality Sub-Committees respectively will coordinate efforts with Soror Pope. Further details are forthcoming via email.

Soror Aurelia Williams will lead the Backstage and Dressing Room Support Sub-Committee.

The Florida Theatre has advised that they have increased security measures. Accordingly, all pageant ticketholders will be subject to bag and belonging searches, as well as metal detector scanning. Guests are asked to plan for an early arrival to ensure ample time to pass through security and be seated prior to the start of the show at 8 p.m.

We have now secured approximately $18,000 in sponsorship commitments.

Fundraising progress charts will be posted bi-weekly in the Mid-Week Message and via special email announcements. Charts will show the Chapter’s and the contestants’ respective fundraising totals.
