MAJOR TYPES OF DELUSIONS

(DSM-IV)

PERSECUTORY TYPE:

• Some kind of malevolent treatment , such as spying,

stalking, or the spreading of false rumors of illegal or

immoral behavior.

• Extreme cases dangerous and counteraction attempted

(murder)

JEALOUS TYPE:

• Predominant theme is that, one’s sexual partner is being

unfaithful.

EROTOMATIC TYPE:

• Some other person of higher status, is in love with one

and want to start sexual liaison

Somatic Type:

• Unshakable Belief in having some physical illness or disorder,

(Esoteric or exotic)

Grandiose Type:

• Thinking of Person of extraordinary status, power,

ability, talent, beauty, etc.

• Special relationship with celebrity

Mixed Type:

• Combination of above but no single theme predominate.

mistreated by enemies.

Delusion system creating a “pseudo community”

to carry out some action against him or her.

“Mode of thinking”-suspicious, protective

thinking, Hostility, Paranoid illumination.
