What is geospatial technology?
• Maps? Satellites? GPS?
• What is geospatial? Its all things related to location
• The technology that enables people to see, analyse, and understand patterns
and relationships in this data is called geospatial technology
-
What type of maps does Takor make?
• Takor doesn’t make maps
• We simply create platforms with tools that allow people to collect, view and
share their own geospatial and mapping data
-
• Google is a search company
• They are not our competitor, rather they are another avenue whereby users of our products can share information
• We are a conduit to Google
• We make platforms packed with geospatial tools
• We like to think of ourselves as like a Google Earth on steroids
How is Takor different to Google Earth?
-
Takor vs companies that capture imagery & data
• They capture imagery and data – that’s content
• They need their content on our platforms, to allow them to reach more people – this is democratisation
• We even get contacted by not only imagery companies but also those serving weather, traffic, logistics, geophysical content…globally!
-
That year…2005
• A few great things happened in 2005
• Google unleashes geospatial technology to the masses…Google Maps!

Innovation starts in the outback in 2012

Heading towards market maturity

-
A disruptive route…
• Takor provides platforms for the enabling of ‘mapped’ data
• All 3 of these factors into 1, by leveraging the power of consumer grade mobile devices
• All this is done using our very own geospatial engine called Koomba
> Data collection: easier, cheaper, quicker, more accurate and occurs more often
> Data viewing: from desktop to mobile computing. Information viewed everywhere
> Data sharing: cellular networks, the cloud and Wi-Fi have make this seamless!
-
Meet…
• Our engine & platform
• By itself a Platform-as-a-Service for almost anything geospatial or mapping
• Enables users to create their own geospatial applications without the need to subscribe to
expensive proprietary platforms
What makes Koomba different and compelling?
• Self-standing & completely independent
• Machine learning features
-
Mappt…
• Mappt is a low cost mobile mapping solution for Android devices
• Users in key industries ranging from agriculture and environment, through to mining and
asset management.
• Users can create, capture, import, view and share mapping data on a mobile device
• Uses in managing Ebola (West Africa), tracking cheetahs (Iran), natural disaster response
(Australia and US), mapping remote mine sites across the globe
-
Our big break, the US military…
• Takor formally vetted and validated by the US DoD to provide Mappt Military (April)
• Process took over 16 months of verification and security checks
• Mappt Military = enhances situational awareness in hostile environments
• Soldiers can collect, process and share data in the field faster and more accurately
• Ensures better tactical decision making
• Association with US military allows us to test in the best tech environment
-
Its bold, its fast, it’s the US military…
-
Uluru…
• State-of-the-art global tracking and monitoring system
developed using real-time satellite short-burst data using Koomba
FIRST APPLICATION: LIVESTOCK MONITORING
• Traditionally, the monitoring and management of livestock has been extremely difficult,
expensive and unreliable
• Allows direct access to a constellation of satellites which also provide imagery such as
vegetation health, weather and wildfire alerts
• Users can then quickly and cheaply share this information with any mobile device, in an easy
to understand and share format
-
SOAR…
• A multilateral global platform for the distribution and monetisation of drone imagery and
video
• Developed as a parallel system for the standardisation of drone data in tactical military
applications
• SOAR will become a database for crowd-sourced drone data
• A global marketplace for drone analytics, suppliers and customers
• A super map of the globe at an unparalleled scale using blockchain technology to connect and
share data
• The value of data is dropping, its what you do with the data that’s important!
-
Other applications of technology from Koomba…
• Commodity Tracking (SCT Index)
• Real Estate (HuliHome)
• Tourism & Geosocial (Kojai)
• All about getting our technology out to the hands of as many people as possible
-
…from startup to speedup
• 12-18 month plan
• A clear strategy to the next level of consumer and commercial applications
i. Immediate revenue opportunities for already commercialised products
ii. Commercialise the Koomba engine and platform to other technology facilitators
iii. Drive further innovation for dropdown technologies to every day consumers with products
such as Uluru and SOAR
iv. End-state to create a global marketplace for geospatial and mapping products and
technologies
