COURSE OVERVIEWMolar endodontics often present with various challenges to the clinician. These may include difficulty in isolation, access preparation, negotiation of curved/calcified canals, disinfection and obturation. Therefore, this course is designed for dental practitioners who wish to perform molar endodontics with higher confidence and predictable clinical outcome. It will focus on a systematic clinical diagnostic and treatment protocol in the endodontic management of molar teeth with minimal to moderate difficulty.

The first part of the course includes three days of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on workshops on extracted teeth highlighting the benefits of illumination/magnification using operating microscopes, ultrasonics, advanced rotary canal preparation, newer irrigation devices, thermoplasticised obturation techniques/systems and factors influencing the choice of material and design of restorations for root-filled teeth with hands-on experience in use of latest bulkfil material to achieve predictable coronal seal.

The second part includes 4 mentoring sessions, case based learning, reflection and discussion.

Certificate of attendance with CPD points will be provided at end of the course.

To be eligible for a certificate of successful completion of training in molar endodontics, participants will submit a reflective report of 1 completed case for assessment.

Upon completion of the programme, the candidate should be able to:

• applythefundamentalknowledgeofendodonticsinclinicalpractice

•managemolarendodonticcaseswithahighdegreeofpredictability
