In this task, you will be covering the areas detailed below.

Dental Nursing:

• Understanding of the treatments offered in the Dental Prac-tice

• Knowledge of how to assist the operator with a complex treatment, and the equipment and materials required

Functional skills English Level 1 and Level 2:

• Use a range of sentences and structures, including com-plex sentences, and paragraphs to organise written com-munication effectively

• Use a range of writing styles for different purposes

• Punctuate written text using commas, apostrophes and inverted commas accurately

• Ensure written work is fit for purpose and audience with accurate spelling and grammar that support clear meaning in a range of texts

Task 1

You need to talk to the staff in the practice and choose a treatment to research. It would be ideal to choose one of the more complex treatments so that your instruction booklet will have more detail.

Plan it – think about what you need to do and how you are going to do it.

Think about the structure of your instructions to assist with a treatment and write a brief in your notepad.

Task 2

Once you have finished your draft, proof read it and decide where images or dia-grams might help make the information clearer to enhance the presentation.

Task 3

Once you have finished your first draft, identify and correct errors then write out your final draft and attach your images.
